I haven't seen these speakers used here before

I haven't seen these speakers used here before.

Are you building an x3? If not, go for a 4".

The ES-04 that I have in the back is 2.28" deep (58 mm), and the ES-03 1.69 (43 mm) they will fit in front door panels. I would like to put the 4"ers in front if they would fit. These are going in 2009 E92

Ok I see your issue is depth. Why not choose a different 4" driver?

The kicker's can supposedly play up to about 500hz but you really don't want that as it will pull your soundstage down. Better to have a larger driver in the door.

Same concern. Whatever speakers you have under your seats will be having to make up for the freq's a 3" cannot play.

The 3" is 119hz to 11000hz and the 4" 50hx to 10000hz

So that's good technical info...

the 119hz is probably "measureable output" down to that frequency. Without looking at a frequency response curve it is difficult to tell how much output you will get from there.

That being said, 200hz is a workable crossover point from underseats to doors. Which might work with your 3" without pulling the soundstage down.

So unfortunately with the coupe, there are fewer options in the 4" range available but there are still quite a few. Have you already purchased the CDT?
Personally, I would try for a 8"/4" combo as its tried and true. So much info on this forum there is no need to reinvent the wheel, just tweak what others have done to your liking.

Do you think I could get the 4" I have in the front doors. CDT does have an ultra slim 4" that is 1.25 (31.75) deep 100hz to 5000hz, while it's not a cheap speaker it is their least expensive.
