E90 service question

Hi

Just a quick question on servicing the E90 - My car's service indicator is showing 300 km left to the service. However , when I phoned my dealer , I could only get a booking in about 3 weeks time. Is it OK if I do more than 300 km before the car gets serviced ? Will doing such a thing not affect the Motorplan ?

the service indicator is just that - an indicator and quite conservative at that i'm told by my service advosor. so if you do travel past the indicated distance, no problem. some of his customers have travelled thousands of kms past the indicated distance without any problems at all.

so if you do have to travel past the 300kms in the next 3 weeks, you can safely do so by a very wide margin.

i know that you just like all of us bmw devotes here on e90post.com are very particular about our cars but once again, do remember that bmw take into consideration that not all bmw drivers will follow the sii and build that factor into their cars.

enjoy your e90. all the best.

I've done about 24650 kms so far - so according to the service indicator my car should be serviced at 25000 kms. I'll definitely do more than 300 kms in the next 3 weeks.

Actually I have faith in modern oils , but was scared that if something went wrong with the car then BMW would say - "yeah , but you waited too long to service it and it caused problems"

By the way , I'm going to ask them to have a look at the following when I send it in :

1) Slight rattle from drivers door.
2) Poor throttle response - this irritates me, especially in traffic when you need to get going quickly.

Apart from that it's been fine.

I have a similar problem.

If you are willing to ignore your other issues, you can have your oil service done in the F1 bay at Lyndhurst Auto!

3 BMW dealers told me that it would be fine upto around 2000km's over the SII. Obviously, your car does need it's service, so avoid driving like a maniac...

Everything should be ok though, and you won't pick up too much flack before 2000 over the indicator.
