When you overcook T9.....you find out your pucker factor....I have gotten way squirrelly out of T9..dont want to do it ever again. BTW, on track out it is actually off camber slightly. For me, it is the toughest corner on the track...or most dangerous...with T6 coming in second.

What is a decent lap time for the 335 at Laguna Seca?

Not sure what Harold is doing these days..but when I am unchipped I think I am in the 1:48 to 1:49 range..and chipped about 1:47. I might have done a high 1:46.X ..but I am not positive....I keep having limp modes and CELs at the track.

I checked my tapes at Thunderhill from an event a few Friday's ago..and I had done a few 2:13 laps there..without the bypass. With traffic it was 2:16 - 2:17. This track is 3.1 miles long.

I can manage 1:47 without pushing my car too hard - no sliding and counter-steering! I was pointed with the black flag by the start/finish marshall when I drifted the car through turn 11 last time out. What do I prove if I get down to 1:45(carry all the speed through turns 8 through 10 will do it)? Team scouts aren't out there looking for drivers!

Lately, I have been just cruising down most of the straights in 6th gear, so my times have been in the low 1:50's.

Thanks guys. I was just curious.
Since 1.47 seems to be good, then I'll be happy if I get a 1.50.

Really?
OK, that's good to know.
Of course, having fun is number 1 on the mind but it's nice to know where people stand.

Motortrend managed a 1.49 with a 335 coupe stock. I'm no expert and I certainly can't afford to ball up my car. Harold is a track-aholic and Steve, well if he's not driving he's instructing. Throw in r-comps, serious chassis tuning and a tune and you have fast lap times.

I'd include Satakal in there with the track junkies too.
I'm surprised he's not going.

Ew...not at Spring Mtn with the other radical boys? I was on track with about 8-9 Radicals once at Willow Springs...some were really fast. What group is there on 16-18?

I really think I need wider tires...some actual camber...and car that doesnt go into limp mode all the time....the other stuff I can live with. 1:49 with a stock car is pretty good..since the car has understeer and the RFT are not that good on track. I really think with good 265 R compounds at all corners...about 2.5 to 3 degrees of negative camber...and maybe a LSD..and a decent chip..that I could do a mid 1:45. I am not the fastest guy...so some of it is just me.

My first time there was in March and managed 1:50 by the end of the day. This is with chicken-lifting through T1, leaving mucho real estate exiting T6, and easing through T9. In the M with r-comps, not the 335i.

I am showing up this time with 265/35R18 fronts on 18 x 9.5 and 285/30R18 on 18 x 10 wheels. Rear traction coming out of the corners is a problem for the car now after tuning the suspension with correct spring rates and damper settings. 36X wheel hp and 37x wheel tq is a lot for the rear tires to keep under control. And that is only on LET Stage 2, can't wait to see what Stage 3 and the Race Tune can do!

I bet Steve can do a 1:43 in my car!

I ran Laguna Seca couple years ago in my 04 TSX, I managed a best lap time of 1:54. The car had coilovers and I was running the RA-1's at the time. The same weekend, I drove my friend's 06 Civic Si, and managed a best lap time of 1:50. The Si also had coilovers, but with wider Nitto NT-01's. I'd like to take my Bimmer there, but I think this event came too early. I'm still in the break-in period. One day, I'm sure I'll take it to the track and hopefully meet some of you. Maybe you guys can give me some pointers about this car. Afterall, this is my first Bimmer.

Do we have 5 on this one?

I am so looking forward to this event with other members of the E90post next weekend. However, I have a sick dog at the hospital, but I hope she will be okay very soon so I can join you guys.

I hope everything goes well because I totally understand since I have a German Sheapherd that likes to eat everything and a greyhound that likes to break toes.

It's too bad that I will be going Friday instead of Saturday but hopefully I'll run into you guys Friday night.

Well, I'm ready.
I just changed my oil, trans oil, and changed my wheels.
I'm good to go.

Finished replacing camber arms and resetting alignment on the M last night. I finally diagnosed and resolved a suspension problem after a year. Tonight I'll pack up the cars.

Do we have a worn out bushing or bearing?

Have fun at Laguna, I am disappointed that I can not join you guys this time.

Hope everyone was able to get the discount.
