Tie Rods Seized

Gents,

I have a potentially tricky situation:

I lowered a few weeks ago but when I tried to get my E90 aligned it turns out the Tie Rods have seized and the shop could not go through with it without compromising the tie rods.

The car is 3 years old and just 40,000kms. Technically this should still be under warranty, but will the dealer now refuse to touch it because it's lowered? The act of installing the lowering springs itself should not have affected the tie rods ...

Funny thing is that 3 years ago in its first month of ownership I had to get the E90 aligned at the dealer -- perhaps it got screwed up then.

Who do you think I should talk to? As I understand it it's $90 for each tie rod and probably a few hours in labor .. plus mandatory alignment.

try your luck with the dealer as is. if they refuse, you can then either purchase new tie rods and have an aftermarket shop do the installation for you. i believe it will be cheaper than reinstalling stock susp.
