I cant tell if my fairly new (3 years) VCG is bad already. I just found one of the bolts loose so I'll be replacing them (to properly torque them without worrying about snapping the heads)

Replaced Coil for cylinder 6 .
No problem replacing coil just a problem getting to it. Then reassembling stuff in the proper order . (engine cosmetic cover must go on before Cabin air filter cover. It was shaking with error 29d2 and asking for service engine soon. It wouldn't have been such a grind but the spare coil I had was not compatible with my wire harness . the stock coils I have have and alignment tab at the bottom of the connector triangle . The replacement I got and it was a Bosch had the alignment tab off to the side. Good thing I don't Gorilla stuff anymore. Got a Coil that would fit from the local Indy . Went to Orielly's they didn't have much though there website say's they do. |

Replaced the HVAC blower motor today. The original was still working but with occasional squealing and it sounded to be a relatively simple and inexpensive fix. I ordered a Valeo unit, apparently it is the OEM unit. Ordered from Amazon, as I assumed it would be the least expensive option but after the fact checked FCP and it was almost the same price so should have done that for the warranty.
Unit arrived with the locking tab broken off, a common problem based on many user reviews of this unit on a number of sites. Odd that the manufacturer has not figured out packaging that would keep it intact. The workaround is the second tab that allows it to be secured in place with a screw. An extra step in the installation/removal processes but not worth sending it back and waiting for another one (that would have a very good chance of being similarly defective). Also replaced the rear door inner grab handles. When I bought the car, the front passenger handle was sticky and I (temporarily) solved the problem with a leather cover. It looked good but that meant the two halves could not be separated to remove the door panel (such as when replacing the speakers). So, in preparation for the stereo and speaker upgrades I did a couple of weeks ago, I had ordered a replacement handle for the front. But I discovered the rear handles were starting to get sticky, so I ordered replacements for those. They arrived with the blower motor and were installed today. Already here, daily drivers parked outside are coated in green dust and we are coughing our heads off. Bimmy stays in the garage fortunately.

As soon as my car leaves the garage it becomes coated in a fine but noticeable layer within 5 minutes. I'm sure many here are familiar with our notoriously dusty brakes, yes? Clean your wheels, 1-2 drives later, it looks like you didnt do shit? That's my whole car, year round. The only thing that changes is whether it's pollen or dust

ebay "Detroit Axle" rotors arrived today, surprisingly nice quality for the price. Got them on, just need pads to finish up the rear.

Honestly the winters up here aren't too bad, it's the most balanced weather across all four seasons I've seen so far. It's still fairly random, but I digress. We don't have the snow Denver has Also, what's everyones thoughts on CSF radiators? The OE one I bought a year ago has failed and I'm worried a replacement could do the same.

They are zinc dichromate coated and I wiped the insides with wd40 corrosion inhibitor. The rotors I took off were rusty af these will last for a bit. I bought the cheap ones cause they only have to last until I get to phase 2 of this car which will include upgrade to the larger brakes I removed from the 330i when I replaced them. It's just the bracket pads and rotors that are different, they use the same calipers.
