Rear windows not rolling back up

So this happened today. My friend in the back seat rolled down the window and it wouldn't roll back up. I played with the switch for 8 minutes and they finally rolled back up. Anyone ever experienced this ? How can I fix it?

Probably something with the pinch control inside the window tracks- some sensor or other is fubared I would say.

That happened to me too . Now I tell my friends "don't roll the windows all the way down!!" Lol but of course some don't listen and ask why. Then when they don't go back up they know why

I had this happen (on the coldest f-ing day too) and since then I keep the window lock on so no one can play with it from the backseat.

My theory is that the cable is frayed/kinked somewhere near the 'down' position, and it gets hung up there. The motor seems to be okay because it doesn't struggle or lag to open/close other than getting stuck fully down.

Some day when it's not the ice-age outside I'll do some surgery and see what's wrong in there.

Edit: was looking for this thread to show a pic:

You can see how the cables can fray apart when they get old and brittle

It might be the cold man. My windows wouldnt roll down at all yesterday. (8degess here in maryland). And my sunroof would try and get stuck. I was so scared it wouldnt close. But it did thank god. After blasting heat in car for a while they started to move

i had this issue with my car when i first got it i had to just tap the "up" switch a few quick times till it got up a little bit then it would go up. i think it has to do with the auto roll function and something might be stuck.
