High Plains Raceway - Open Lapping
I have been planning to hit a lapping day at HPR. Winter pricing starts in November at $100 for the day, 10am-4pm. 30 min intervals for each two groups. It would be neat to go and have a bunch of BMW guys out there so we can take photos/video, chat between sessions, and maybe even ride/drive in each others cars.
For this to happen, we need 10 participants registered the week of. There are a few requirements, but if you have a helmet, it is drive at your own risk (ie. no tech inspection). For more detail, take a look here: http://www.highplainsraceway.com/pdf...ation-Page.pdf Here are my proposed winter pricing dates which are open for cars: Saturday, Nov 16 or Sunday, Nov 24 Curious to hear who is available and which days work better. MORE INFO: http://www.highplainsraceway.com/lapping-days.html So far we have a few responses on bimmerforums, and it seems like Sunday the 24th is more popular. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...Winter-Pricing)

It's November-March/ April with cars once per week weather and attendance permitting. Obviously on the snowy days, that means there is less likely a chance of it happening.
Also, getting a day of winter pricing in means that you would also get a free 2013 lapping customer appreciation at the end of the year.

I plan on going out once I can get my car down through Lyons. Our road was trashed by the floods, so I missed the fall school and several lapping days. Itching to get out one of these days.

Crap, you missed the fall school? Sorry to hear that. I took myself off the waiting list. Still no easy way out of Lyons?

Friso, it would be great for you to get out there the same day as me! Your driving lines were always good

Hi guys,
Yeah - missed the school. At the time the school was running, I was driving over an old, improvised stage-coach trail that volunteers, hot shots, and fire fighters had built to get us from US-36 into a neighboring area. It was the first time there was any way to get a car out of the US-36 corridor between Apple Valley and Big Elk meadows. CDOT and the National Guard have been amazing at hammering together temporary roads, and we are now looking at dirt/gravel roads that are starting to be passable by sedans. (Still only access for residents). i have a feeling that by mid November the road will be very good dirt, or possibly paved, so I'm definitely heading to the track one of those weekends. Missed quite a bit this season. Thanks for checking in. Hasta |

Good to hear you're recovering Friso. I'll be at HPR in Nov, I have some punches left I must use.

Nope. I'll really be going by the weather. BTW, 11/16 may end up going to NASA if any of their days this coming weekend gets nixed by weather.

Looks like 11/16 is the day most BMW guys are able to make it. Hope you can join us!

I signed up for both 10th and 16th. Remember, it's best to sign up before hand. Glenn (track manager) doesn't take just weather into consideration, but # of signups. If either day doesn't work out with the Wx I will sign up/go on the 24th.

Great!
I may be able to do both weekends as well. Aaron (black e30) from D4C wanted to make it out also. Weather looks good for the 10th....

Of course! I am more than willing to sit in the right seat or have someone sit in right seat! I am just going to have fun, not looking to do personal best. Wx is supposed to be nice and I haven't been to HPR since spring, which seems like last year to me, so I am really looking forward to it.

Does it cost anything to be a passenger? I'm debating going this weekend and bringing a friend

Nope, just sign the waiver and bring a helmet and you can do ride-alongs.
