Wow, looks good; please make picture in sunlight. What's the price of that v4 ? Is this solution also with "resistor" box ?

thans
$225 + $10 shipping to US. haven't had direct sunlight since I installed them but I'll try this weekend. it comes with the adjustable settings ... maybe that's the resistor box you speak of?

The black power supply ( resistor box) is designed to get tucked away inside the headlight compartment. This way it will stay dry and keep the headlight sealed correctly

So "Lux H8 V4" comes without resistor box ? -> so this is new solution without wasting current on resistor which cause a lot of heating...

Ok, then nothing new, just better driver + other flux bin of LEDs this is never worth so much money !

The "Resistor Box" is no where near a simple resistor at all, first off. All high power LED's should be powered by a LED Driver. If you apply 12v directly to a LED it will pop instantly. As well the black power supply is actually a complex set of components and not a simple resistor. A simple resistor would waste tremendous amounts of heat, get extremely hot and is not safe to use for such high power LED's. The LED driver regulated the amperage and voltage to the LED while compensating for the dimming done by the car. Understanding LED Drivers is quite complex and has required a LOT of testing and modifications to work correctly.

Hmm,Now I'm not sure if "Lux H8 V4" have big power resistor or not ?

I think you don't understand LED drivers ! First you need to understand that right way to drive LEDs it to drive them with current source and of course inside of LED driver there are resistors (like current source or DC/DC converters) and other component in SMD size, like 0805 or 0603, but never like big power resistors, which are now mostly added to all these solutions for AE LED upgrade. This resistor is there just because of big current consumption so that BCM cannot detect failure on "light function" -> current consumption is much much higher at bulb H7 for example than LED driver+ LEDs -> but of course this is not right way to solve that problem but is THE CHEAPER ONE

I do not want fighting about that it's just my personal opinion on my experiences!

I think we are actually talking about the same thing I helped design the current driver being used for the LUX H8 V4 light so i understand what you are talking about.

Lightbulb DRL's not Angel Eyes?

New to the forum, please go easy!
I'm attaching two images, both are not mine, but they get the point across. The first pic is what my DRL's look like now, they illuminate in the center only and you don't get that WOW effect.

What I want them to look like is the second pic, only the halo glowing and NOT the inside portion.

What I would like to know is, do I just need to upgrade to the LED bulbs or does something else need to be replaced to make this happen? First Bimmer, looking to do a little tweaking to make it my style.

The first picture are the DAytime running lights. The off setting on the headlight switch and look like GP 7500k bulbs. Not stock, stocks are much yellower. The second picture is interesting to me as only the Inside rings are illuminated. Usually that light will do both I've seen.

Lighting

I still have the stock bulbs, the cars in the pictures are not mine, just an example of the difference I'm trying to make happen.

Light switch is on Auto, and I only get the center of the ring illuminated for DRL.
When the lights are fully on, I still have the center lit on the inner bulbs, and I have the ring on the outer (larger) ones.
I would like to have ring only in the daytime. Is that controlled by the way the bulb is reflecting the light or.... something else? I want that signature BMW look even in the daytime. I was planning to buy the LED bulbs for a whiter color, but I've seen even stock photo's of ONLY the ring glowing in the daytime. That's what I want to do!

Yours will be different and LUCKY for you. My 2008 in my profile is "pre-LCI" a term you will here a bunch. But yours is MUCH easier to change etc. the thing I don't know is mine has a separate Angel Eye bulb where my brothers 135 didn't.

I know you can whiten the DRL's and get the ultra white LED style rings for relatively cheap. The part I can't confirm is the rings without the main bulb on.

On mine I can but only in "markers setting"

This is blinders, LED turns conversion

Happy Happy Happy... found the exact answer

Emailing the famed "Alex@Alpine", he provided a list of remote coding options that are available...

One of them is "Switch DRL on E90 and E91 from inner halogen bulb to the Angel Eyes".. so apparently it's software that controls which bulb is illuminated.

I'm definitely going to have him do my coding, for that and some other options.

Id like to do that too. Like i said my rings are only on by themselves when the turn signals are on too and set on the marker setting. when headlights are on I have the main bulb going too.

If you are asking me. Haha. the "high beams" (DRL) for Xenon cars an inexpensive route are GP Thunder 7500k whiter or 8500k for more white/blue. But both are much whiter than the stocks. If your car is all incandescent it's a nice upgrade to do both.

We probably have similar I bet. Mine took 1-2 weeks. The build quality is not the higher end vendors but so far mine have been good too. Was an experiment but so far working.
