Kids: A Little Game of "Which is Worse?"

So my wife and I are hanging out in the living room tonight, and we hear our 7 year old son taking a bathroom break upstairs. He was complaining of a little stomach ache earlier, so you can imagine the look we gave each other when we heard what sounded like, uh, a lot of water pouring into the toilet all at once.

Us: "Zack, are you ok?"
Zack: "Yeah, I was just pouring water on my tummy to get the gum off."

He said it so non-chalantly that we couldn't help but laugh. What are you supposed to say to that? "Oh, ok, go back to bed"?

No, no, no. We were just thinking "my kid is sick" one second and thinking "my kid is covered in gum" the next. We just thought it was funny.

I went back and edited the story a little bit so maybe it makes more sense. In retrospect, it's also possible that it's only funny to us (or other parents of small children).

Kids say the cutest things...like the time our young son came into our room during the night and said "I'm going to kill you, both of you"....even thought he's 19 now, I still look for 666 embedded in his scalp.
