BMW Professional Stereo Wirig Diagram & Crossover locations
I have a 2006 320i E90. The stereo that came with the car is a BMW Professional with aux input underneath the center console but without a USB port, I dont know why. Mine has the Manual A/C controler only and some say I only have the "Basic" version of audio. 2 mid coaxials in front door, 2 woofers in front underneath seats and 2 coaxial in rear deck. No tweeters.
Now I plan on having amplifiers to run with my soon to be upgraded speakers. Does anyone know of a wiring diagram of the back of the BMW Professional Car Stereo. I want to know if there are RCA outputs for the amps. Also if I can be able to put somekind of a iPOD controller jack and where to get them online. I believe there are modules out there that can do these additional input options but I dont know where to get them. Secondly, I have heard that e90 has a stock amplifier located at the left side trunk. If this is the case then I maybe all the speakers go through a passive crossover. Where are the front and rear crossovers located then? So I may incorporate the new crossovers of the new speaker sets that come with them. Im sure this is the best place to ask for these infos as here is the place of the most knowledgeable BMW guys out there. ^^ Any input is welcome guys. Thank you in advance! Head unit does not define the stereo system.
You could have any of the three stereo systems offered by BMW and still have
a professional head unit. You probably have the base or stereo system from your description of the speakers which means no amp. No tweeters in the front doors means base system. I don't think the doors are even coax. No real crossovers in any of the systems. Read these look at the base system upgrades if this makes sense. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 BMW stereo types http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352586 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1266451970 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343673 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138949 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780605 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780865 http://www.musicarnw.com/page-2/ http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...4&d=1278871872 For aftermarket usb and ipod with a most bus based radio dension gateway 500 or mobridge. Sorry to post here but i am wondering if the cables for the amp are pulled from the hu to the trunk. I have the base system without an amp, i checked last week but i couldn't find any cables. Are they hidden under the back seat or smth?

You need a response from Europe
You need a response from Europe
In the US the cars used to come pre wired up until 2009 or 2010 since then they have been on a cost cutting plan. What they do is different by country and model year. My guess is on a base system if you don't see it , its not there. |

Oh too bad. Regarding front tweeters, is there a place to get the stock tweeter mounts on the doors? (at the other end of the side mirrors) Does the Professional Stereo come with RCA output jacks at the back? Or do I have to use a line converter? Also, which is better the gateway 300 or the the DICE Mediabridge, the one offered by bavariansoundwerkz. Which has better performance and less errors/bugs. Thank you my friend. All these question are answered in the

All these question are answered. most in the number one entry in this thread. A Dice setup does not work at all you have to use a Dension gateway 500 or mobridge unit( they only make one) I can't tell you how good they are only that as far as I know they are the only thing that works based on a lot of research.(other than a factory retrofit or new factory radio) please read the articles I sent you. Yes you can get the stock tweeter mounts from BMW and there not very expensive. No RCA's you need to get a harness Technic or the easiest way to upgrade is a MusicarNW Kit it has everything you need and is the closet thing to plug and play. As far as I know BSW still does not offer an ipod solution or and amp for the e9x series the best solutions are found in the above thread read it carefully there is even some reviews of the BSW stuff in it. Btw, does BMW have like an OEM upgrade for this? For the OEM professional stereo to accept iPODs and USBs? I prefer the OEM add ons over the after market if there are any. Thanks. Last edited by gunman168; 09-04-2012 at 05:30 AM.. |
