Quick question, If step 5 is better than step 3 why not do step 5 instead and have room to grow? This would be just connecting the walboro by itself correct. I never run my car past 1/2 a tank so if that is the only con I think I will be doing step 5 instead.

its not worth replacing that POS part, i figure to fill up when gauge gets right below half of a tank, better for the pump anyway.

nothing like running e50 or e60 with these cars .

How many miles are you getting out of a half tank of 50/50 mix?

part takes less than 5 Mindy to replace...you can do it with bucket in the car...no disassembly.

My stock hpfp went out

I purchased my e92 about a yr ago I just recently found out in a dealer visit that my car received a branded title for being a lemon car due to the fact the hpfp had been replaced multiple times.. I've driven over 10k with no issues now my hpfp went out and I want to know what's a good alternative pump I can use instead of the stock one again so I dont go threw this again Im stock now but planning on a Cobb tune, fmic, down pipes, and exhaust soon. What should I do?

The gates line is pretty expensive that's all I could find though. Anybody else having this problem? I might wait to do the in tank swap as Terry is working on a DIY on the same pump mounted underneath the car by the Tranny. He is still running tests on it to make sure it performs the same as the in tank. The outside pump looks much easier to install.

Are you just looking to do a in-line pump and a in tank pump replacement? I don't think you would have problem with venturi if you are adding a secondary pump. I am running the pump without venturi until I found a better option for fuel line. the one from Gates degrades even faster than the walbro fuel line that come with the kit.

Are you using the submersible line from gates? http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?br...cation_id=3006

I have been running mine for ~2000 miles and no issues yet.

curious to hear about why you thought it was degrading or what you saw going wrong..? I installed the 455 lpfp recently with the gates line mentioned above so this is making me kind of nervous... I suppose its a good thing i kept the stock lpfp, I can always try the new inline post regulator pump if this one fails

Gates does have 2 kinds of e85 approved lines. One is submersible and the other doesn't say. Submersible is almost 30bucks a foot!

BMS is testing a new fuel pump upgrade option that goes directly in the fuel line. You don't even need to crack open the tank. The JB4 controls it. Some info on their forum.

So should I even bother buying a walbro 455 pump?

Make sure you have the tools, skills, and patience to do it right. There's many members who are having trouble with the DIY pump, it's not easy to do it right, and there's a few tradeoffs once it's done.

How hard can it be... But thanks. Anyone know the difference between the 450 and 455? Or any other alternative drop in lpfp.
