Brake fluid warning light "ON"

People,

2009 328i, brake fluid was a bit low so I topped it off. Warning light (the round red image with sloshy fluid in circle) never came on to warn me- maybe the fluid was not low enough to be a danger.

But when I scroll through the images on the instrument cluster to get to the brake fluid image it shows as red. Is this normal? Why is it red when the fluid level is OK?

Does it require a reset? Or will it go away by itself?

OR, just thought, cold this have to do with the brake pads and not the fluid?

Thanks, people.

It's a timed warning for brake fluid flush. I don't believe there is a low fluid sensor. But for sure that light is just a timer that can be reset every two years/X miles.

If it's just the symbol and no date at the bottom it's a level warning (but it's got to get pretty low for that), the sensor is a float integrated into the cap assembly, should be a wire plugged into the top of the cap. If there is a date at the bottom as in the picture then it's saying you're due for a brake fluid flush/change...by default the timer is every 2 years.
