Vinyl Wrap - Complete

Hey guys..

UPDATE: complete, thanks again Khai! Pics below
Just sold my M3 and picked up a new 2011 335d

I'm looking to get my roof wrapped in black gloss vinyl. Anyone out there have experience with this and want to install this for me? I'm horrible with things like this.. no patience and lack of a steady hand.. lol.

Throw out a price for install.

Thanks!

OMG I was just thinking of posting a thread like this today and you beat me to it.

I'm also interested in the same as well as wrapping my bike. Maybe if we combined the job we can get a discounted price haha.

I'm interested in getting my window trim wrapped. Either gloss or flat black.

Damn I did mine by myself under 2 hours. The most time consuming part was cutting the area for the sunroof and heating it so I could get it around the edges.

That's the easiest part of the install

Shops that don't do this on roof wraps fail

It may be easier but it takes longer....at least for me it did. I laid down the vinyl over the roof in 45 mins. Then I took my time on the sunroof area because I didn't want to mess up (like I did with my di-noc install).

on the Di-Noc

If you ever do that again the easiest way is to cut and leave a 1 1/2" overhang and then as you're heating it up and pulling it around the edge, you use a x-acto knife along the edge(I prefer a roofers blade). I don't find it necessary to wrap it underneath anything past the edge on any of my installs and have never had any pull up.

Try Rob (cyphr). He's wrapped a few interiors and window trims so he might be down for a roof. Otherwise, I've heard a couple people recommend Design Flow Graphics in Salem before.

That would be awesome! Gloss black is what I'm looking for.. I'd gladly throw you some cash for your time and beer if you drink it. Do you have any time next week? We're supposed to have a couple of 60 degree sunny days next week.

Let me know what you think.. thanks!

I miss the aural sensations (engine sound/braking/handling) of the M, the 335d is obviously much more subdued... but this car is stealthily fast and the torque puts just as much of a smile on my face as the M did. The amazing fuel economy is just icing on the cake.

I'll post up some pics later this week when the wrap is done.. I have some other minor mods on the way too (black & white roundels, black grilles, etc..)

Here's a couple of pics as promised.. the wrap came out awesome! A huge thank you to my new friend Khai here on the forums who wrapped the roof for me.. I did the antenna cover and surprisingly, the vinyl is actually not as hard to work with as I thought it would be! I'm now thinking of attempting to re-do the roof in a matte black or carbon fiber and match the mirrors.

Since I had the mod bug, I decided to...

Replace those pesky orange sidemarkers

Change out the sidemarkers to LED to match the OEM directionals

Monochrome Roundels Front and Rear

Debadge and paint lower rear lip for a M-Tech look

Paint front kidney grilles and lower silver grills/slats for a more agressive look

Next up, I want to swap out the wheels so if anyone is interested in trading plus cash for some OEM 18's - I love the 162 wheels for some reason.. always have.

Khai - any interest in helping me wrap my S4's window trim? I can't PM yet (under 5 posts) but any chance you can email me at michael.radonich@gmail.com to discuss?
