Bought a nice quick mod tonight

hey guys what's up. So for a while now i've been wanting to do something about not having Bluetooth in my car. At the time when i purchased my 335i, i didn't find a need in premium package, also didn't want people in my conversation.... BUT now i want it.

So i could even deal with the hassle and get the dealership ROB me of $1000+ to get it installed, OR... i could do an alternative route.

So i did some research and found this to be good. I can't say if it works 100
% yet because i haven't installed it. I'm looking for an installer. I bought it at bestbuy and they charge $130 for the install with lifetime warranty. So we'll see.

Here's what I got.

Sooo, let's see how it goes. Anyone have any feedback?

My MAIN concern is to make phone calls thru this device. And connecting my ipod to one of it's connectors would be a nice plus.

If anyone has or is using this please fill in your review.

Parrot is becoming very popular lately. I would probably get it if I didn't have OEM bluetooth.

I have been considering this exact same unit. Let us know how it works and please post pics of the install. I hate when things don't look factory and have some custom ideas but I am curious what they come up with.

Ok guys so here is the update. I ended up not doing it becUse MANY have told me my 335i comes with the upgraded sound system which means optic cables. They might have to install additional speakers. So I didn't want that. Also the iPhone 3gs will work for Bluetooth BUT music streaming will NOT.

So I came up with a BETTER idea to suit my needs and I feels others would agree. I'm going to vent dock my iPhone on the left side of my steering wheel. And they will wire my aux cable from the center console all the way yo where my iPhone is. That way when I get in the car, I dock my iPhone, plug the aux that will be right there. So then on my idrivesafely screen I go to auc and select a song and it will play on the speakers.

Now when someone calls the song will mute and I will have either the parrot ck3100 or ck3000 installed. That will allow me to use Bluetooth thru the the speakers.

I'm here right NOW. I will update everyone once this mod is done.

I have the almost plug and play harness that will work with that Parrot kit and the Logic7 system... PM for details.

So so i'm back. bad news is they didn't have the harness there fore they had to hard wire the thing to my car. Only bad thing about that is, when i'm listening to music and a call goes in, i can still hear the ring, but i have to mute the music and then i'm good to go. Once the call ended, then i can unmute the music.

The good news is, IT WORKS GREAT!!!. i got the Parrot CK3000 installed. It sounds EXACTLY LIKE my wifes 328i bluetooth built in.

Another note, i ordered an aux cable from amazon (well 2, 7feet monster aux cables) and they will arrive shortly for me to plug it in via aux. I'm going to pull the aux (in my center compartment) and pull is to the left vent where my iphone will be docked.

Good thing is, when i'm listening to my music via aux, the music AUTOMATICALLY mutes on my iphone because the call has to come thru... I'll get back with pics and video on my mod.

few pics.

Some pics... i will provide video later this week. Of the sounds and stuff. Also i will provide pics of the mic. Once i get the vent mount, and pass the aux cable it should look good!!!
