Car shaking in morning.
Noticed now that weather cooled off the car shakes when on steady throttle for the first 10 min of driving. Had same issue before the summer then I changed plugs and coils, was fine, and now started again...codes are same as usual: lambda codes cause of no cats.
Any ideas??

Car shaking, or engine shaking? As the weather gets colder, tires will tend to "flat spot" when parked overnight. They eventually round back out once they get some heat in them. Also helps to run a couple psi more pressure when the temp drops.

Flaky injectors can leave some plugs black. Might want to pull the plugs to check whether any look different. Black is bad, tan/grey is OK.

Do you have any information on which cars were affected by these injectors, I am thinking I should check to see if this recall is on my 07, this is the first I am hearing of this. |

I don't remember, my car is an 08... i think the build date was in late 07 though. I think you can call BMWNA and just give them your VIN and ask

I would guess you have a bad injector. I hope you have warranty...
basically the theory is that you have a leaking injector and in the morning the car shakes until it burns the extra fuel out. The hard part can be finding the bad injector. If the injectors have been upgraded then you may consider changing them all to avoid this from happening again. I had an issue with my injectors under warranty and push the dealer to change all of mine but I had no luck

09 and up should still be covered by the original warranty (unless you're over the mile limit) and the dealers have a testing procedure for the injectors so it shouldn't be difficult to figure out which one is bad. You can also check if the injectors are correctly coded yourself - there is a DIY on how to do it.
For my recall, they only changed 1 injector but the rough idle at startup and after long highway drives is gone now. |
