Hi guys, I had success coding my 05 E61 a year or so ago, before taking a break from BMWs... Back now in an 08 335i and can't for the life of me got things working with that. I understand we have likely moved from kcan to dcan with the newer car but my cable is supposed to support both and have also bought and tried another. Can someone please point me in the direction of a current guide and software? Ideally would like to get going in Win10 but flexible. Thanks in advance!

Where did you buy your cable? Perhaps this cable will not work with your 335i. What is the production date of your car exactly?

I'm new to coding and willing to learn since I replace the original seat with a recarco seat and has need to do coding.... one of my question is:
Can I use Macbook to do it ( I have window 7 in my Mac) I just want to make sure if there's any hardware requirement on coding. Thank you

Welp...just ordered my DCAN cable from One Stop Electronics. I guess I'll study, study, study how to code for the next 2 or 3 weeks until my cable gets here.

The application is but to use it on a E9x you need the 4.3 gb download of daten too.

Yeah, I noticed tonight that your previous account was marked as banned; I've been wondering what you did to get banned.
Anyway, I updated my navigation maps from 2010 to 2016 yesterday using USB Ethernet adapter in glove box method to grab 1b file then used FSC to generate code. It took me a while to get that straight and working, so I haven't had a chance to code anything yet. That comes next. I think the first thing I'm going to try is to make my fog lights come on by default when the car is started (if possible) and to have them stay on when the high beams are activated. Probably next weekend. I'm sure I will have some questions. |

The first of the two is not possible via coding, maybe a hardware hack. If you can figure out the FSC, you can do this! |

I want to send out a big thanks to Joe@TopGearSolutions for his remote coding services.
A while back, I swapped out the rear view for one with home link, compass and auto dim. I also swapped out the side view mirrors for ones that's fold and auto dim. Joe coded in auto-dimming for the rear view and side mirrors, activated the fold-in feature for the side mirrors, activated the digital speedometer, enabled the mirror fold while holding the lock button, as well as enabling the windows up / down feature via the lock/unlock button on the remote. The process was really simple and there was great communication through out the process. I recommend TopGearSolutions for your remote coding service. They're professional and provide great service at reasonable price. Thanks again Joe. Last edited by Operator Mo; 01-31-2016 at 02:08 PM.. |

So I found a better, more complete coding list (excel spreadsheet) for the E9x cars. It has a box next to each year (06-11) to tell you if it works for you and how. The previous google drive one was very old and not complete and did not work for my 07 335i E92. This one did.
Can I provide a link to the download or how does this work? Also I used the $19 Amazon K- dcan cable to do all the coding and it worked great. |

You should probably post a link.
BTW I recently purchased opene90.com and my plan was to put a wiki up there containing all the documentation for this sort of stuff. Considering I've spent countless hours parsing the information on this forum, I really don't think forums are the best place, long lived, for this sort of information. If anyone would be interested in contributing let me know. I could stand up the site |
