thanks for the advice. The supporting vendors on this board are top-notch, world of difference from certain other forums I've been on

Yup.. You have to CNC the stock C-clip so it adds cost but ensures a proper fit. I am not a fan of the silicone connector and have had stories of them popping off. Not sure if it was installer error or that the silicone connector isn't as robust, but for piece of mind I would stick with either the BMS or ER as they both use the stock C-Clip mount.

Better to not ask questions and be forever ignorant? I think not... These are questions a lot of people have, but most people on here, well... Either they are too afraid to ask (because of the flame hammer) or just go with whatever they think is best without getting information from the professionals / vendors.

(If guys don't like you asking questions, maybe they aren't the right guys). Wish I had a girlfriend who love to modify cars... I guess I'll just have to influence my daughter when she's of age to have the same love I have (of modifying cars)...

Agreed! Always better to ask question to get it right than to post later with pictures of your car parked in the driveway with a f'ed up engine or something because you bought the wrong parts, or didn't have something you needed.

I think the big one for me is the flame hammer. I typically paste a few links of what searches returned, if anything, into notepad if the search didn't answer my question. That way if I get this -> I can post my links.

To be fair, even stock people are having some issues with their Charge Pipes. You should mod! Once you buy that first mod it becomes addicting. I just bought one yesterday and another today. HAHA

I strongly agree. If either of those pieces had been out when I was shopping for a CP, I would have them instead of this Vishnu piece which is more or less a straight pipe with a meth bung and two silicone connectors. Same goes for DP haha!

I find that you need to ensure the connections between the connector and outlets are nice and dry, and then connect them with a t-bolt clamp instead of standard worm drive clamp.

I'm the same way. But ER makes a Hard Anodized Black finish that is supposed to make it look more stock. So for routine maintenance they shouldn't ever take the charge pipe off, and thus never have the issue of noticing it is after market. On the off chance something DOES go wrong with the internals of the car, just swap out the ER with the stock one before taking it in. Also, you mind be able to find a good SA in your area, or close, that will be fair to you and not care that you have an after market part on the car unless he can clearly see it caused the issue.

Wal-Mart?

No.. No.. No.. - We believe in offering a product at a fair price. Unlike a lot of these "manufacturers" on here, we build our products in house, this why we can offer a lower price directly to the customer.

You can see our shop pics here.

If you want to get a feel for what we do

I just wrote a couple reviews on our charge pipes, you can see in this thread.

That's correct. You could try and work around it I guess, but it would be much easier to remove it first.

When I pop my hood I can see the charge pipe, and then I see this big plastic (?) casing/rectangle pipe that runs over the top to my air filter. Is that the intake you're talking about, or are you referring to the intake manifold? Or are they the same? Haha, now I'm confused. I thought this was like a ~30 minute job. I know when my friends have taken their intake manifolds of their mazdas it is an all day event.

The big plastic intake box thingy to the right of the engine is generally removed for this installation so you can have better access to the Charge Pipe. Removing it requires removing the top part of the intake. It does not involve taking off the entire intake from the turbo, only the right side is taken off.

It's a straightforward install and took me less than an hour.

What map are most people running that ends up with a broken CP? And what are the symptoms that it's cracked?
