Collected Pokemon Cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards (I miss those days), hot wheels, and Hess Trucks.

Back then I always wanted to get older but looking back at all the stress-free years makes me want to be young again lol.

I forgot about the Hess trucks! man I thought they were so cool and always got them around Christmas time. No idea where they went though... probably in my parents abyss of a basement.

If you still have the pokemon cards see if you have any rare ones. They are selling like crazy now.

I've got the 1st Edition Charizard card. See them going for ridiculous amounts. Going to hold on to it for a little while longer before getting it appraised.

You should get it graded/scored and mounted ASAP. I believe an appraisal comes free with most of those services but that's usually just some shmuck's opinion on the going market.

I did a quick look on ebay to see the going price... you definitely need to send it in somewhere to get graded and mounted. Dont leave a card like that out in the open where it could get damaged.

Foreign coins when going on vacation etc.
Most of them were of currencies that now dont exist anymore, pretty strange when you think about that.

Yeah man it's in one of those hard plastic cases at home. I remember when I was 5 and my mom bought either a booster pack or a game and it came with it. Nostalgia is hitting hard right now lol.

Ahh Legos! I like to think I had one of the best lego Star Wars collections on the east coast but one day I decided it was time to go. I only collected the large "ultimate collector" series ones. Just one day I woke up and they werent appealing to me anymore.

So I sold the entire lot to a collector in Philly which I used a portion of the money to add to a solid down payment for my M.

Some days I regret it, especially since I had 3 of the most sought after sets. But really they just sat there...amazing to look at and conversation pieces, hell yes. But I daily my M4 and enjoy it everyday.

The sad thing is that one day those sets will be worth more than my car.

Here's just a sample

You and I would have been best friends as kids--I had every toy as well, including Star Wars wallpaper, sheets and posters. I remember the great summers I had with an elementary friend I had who likewise had a huge collection. My family was not rich, per se, but my grandmother would send me several dollars each week and that would all go to new toys.

I still had the Millenium falcon and a Walker a few years ago, but they were in such bad condition I got rid of them. I even had the Boba Fett where the missle would shoot. Remember that one? If I had that in an un-opened package...wish..wish.

Had that... and the "hammerhead" action figure that you could inly get by mailing in cereal boxtops. We couldn't have been friends though, I like skunks. I used the Granmda funding source for toys too. Would get, I am thinking it was something under $5, and take it to the Kmart (or an actual indy toy store) and see if they had the one or two I didn't already have. The Jawa with the cloth robe was a big hit too - I remember losing his gun and it was so unique... I got another complete Jawa and he went into storage.

LOL--I remember getting that hammerhead too..and the Jawa...I used to lose all the guns but you could order them individually.
I actually do like skunks, but not stinking up my shed. That is why I did not do any maneuvers to hurt him...only his pride.
