Oily finish after wax, and wash.
Trying to figure out where I went wrong. I washed my car(Black Sapphire) today after a cleaning, and waxing last weekend, and it looks like an oil coated haze all over the car now.
Clayed it first, used Meguires quick detailer as a lube. Fallowed with a coat of Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion by hand. Removed with microfiber towels. Applied a coat of DoDo Juice Purple Haze(with DoDo finger mitt). Waited 24 hours, and applied another coat. Both times removing it with a DA waxer, with a microfiber bonnet. Wiping again by hand with a microfiber towel. All products were applied with the temperature around 65 degrees. Washed it this morning when it was like 75 degrees. It warmed up to around 100 degrees this afternoon, and this oil sheen showed up all over the waxed panels. The wax job still looked good before it was washed. Anyone with any ideas what may have caused this? Any advide with be appreciated.

I applied Dodo Blue Velvet Pro to my hood just for fun after a wash and I noticed the exact same thing. I think it might have been just condensation that formed in the heat but im not really sure. I do know that BV Pro is a chore to remove.

As we all know that paint/body panels, wheels should not be HOT when doing wax or polish job or even washing

Temps should have been ok. Was around 60-65 degrees when I waxed it, waxed it in the shade. 70-75 degrees when I washed it in the shade.

I ran into something similar years ago with another product. I am not sure if it is the same issue. Try this to see if it would work for you. Wet a few MF towel with cold water in a bucket (put some ice cubes in the bucket with cold water) and wipe the car down. Follow immediately with a waffle weave MF to dry. Test on a small section first. If it works proceed to the rest of the panels. Good Luck.

Can try using alcohol wipe down, it'd take the wax off, depends on the situation it can take all the wax off. Try diluting the alcohol before you do that. That would remove the greasy look to the paint, and try applying another coat on and see what's causing the problem.
I know I use Detail Addict's Carnauba Wax and or their Sealant Wax and I know it can be a bit greasy (its just the nature of wax in general), but I just try to remove the best I can with their Detail Spray with a microfiber towel, whatever is left, usually evaporate away the next day or 2. |

It depends on what the carnuba percentage is. My Dodo BV Pro has a pretty high carnuba content and even has nuba chunks and I got some serious ghosting from it. It's still doing it.

A couple of weeks later. A couple of washes later. Whipped the trunk, and hood with IPA, and quick detail. The haze keeps coming back. Starting to think it's been too many coats of wax over the last 6 months. Tried the ice water method also. I did also try lime prime with a coat of Hard Candy Dodo.
Next step going to try washing it a couple of time with Dawn dish soap. Any idea if paint can be too well conditioned?

I seriously don't know why it is still there. What dilution of IPA were you using? How long did you let it dwell?

I see possible hologramming/buffer trails in those pictures. If you went through the typical dawn washes/ISP wipedown, all grease/waxes should be absent.
Did you actually polish the paint before the last-step-products? (if not, then your LSP covered up the defects, washed away, and now you're back to square one)

Nope. It might have a slight edge in lubrication, but other than that your just wasting your money. The only time I would use it would to clean the surface before a coating. I just use IPA before waxes and sealants.

hmmm... i was going to reply to do a cold Detail Spray wipe down. We have that same problem with our Sealant Wax. But that's just the nature of its concentration level. But sounds like it's something different. Did other solution do anything at all?
