What rims would you put on a 335xi with NO DROP?

I'm leasing my 335xi, and don't want to make any suspension mods. That said, I want to buy another set of rims, as I am using the stockers for my winter setup.

I know that going up to 19" sometimes looks bad, because it can make the fender gap look bigger. Considering the fact that the xi rides higher than a stock ZSP, does anyone think it would be a disaster to go with something larger than 18"?

My car is TiAg, and I really like the way BBS CHs would look, and I think Volk Progressivs would look totally sick, but I don't want to spend the money on them, only to hate the fender gap.

Kind of a vague, but... any thoughts?

I don't see much reason to do it, as it adds understeer.

Any upside?

Call me nuts, but I don't like them. I think the spokes are too thick and clumsy on the outer edge. The proportions just seem wrong to me.

I think you should stick with stock. Why spend the money on something that will look jacked up

I'm buying a set of rims anyway, because I don't want to swap tires on the same rims every year.

Do the stock 18s look jacked? If not, why would aftermarket 18s?

no bigger than 18.... I have a 335xi with 19s... but I got the KW V3... I'd recommend at least getting springs. The 335xi looks like an SUV with anything bigger than a 17 in my opinion though

I'm definitely leaning toward 18s... Do you think it looks like an SUV on the stock 18s with ZSP? (I don't, fwiw...)

18s definitely wont look high on stock ZSP. Heck even non-zsp doesnt look half bad. I would go with CSL if you're looking at 18's and V715 if you're going with 19s.

I'm going with CSL's from **********s or the empower from ltwmotorsports.
Wheel Size 18x8.5
Tire size 255/40/18
All four the same size, all the way around.
Yes, they are 26" in diameter. I don't care! I live and drive in the Northeast, and I need as much rubber to protect the wheels as I can get.

As a matter of fact, I'm still considering the LTW5 in a 17x8.5 so I can get MORE rubber...

Typically

1) more rubber (so theoretically more traction for the rear wheels..but since you have an X-drive that might be a moot point)
2) aethetics (more than anything)

Personally, I don't find the understeer that bad...you can dial it out with some PSI tweaking.

On a side note- When people say that staggered "looks" better... I'm not sure I understand how this works. From what angle does it look better? How can you tell the tire width from the side of the car? Unless you are on the ground looking at it straight on, I don't see how anyone sees a difference.

(Aside from rims with differing lip widths.)
