Damn rocks

So I was driving along today on 202 towards work when I guess a little pebble decided to fly into my windshield at the very top where it's attached to my roof. Now there's a 2 and a half inch crack on the front of my windshield. Damnit. I've had this thing for a month and there's only 600 miles on it. I don't even think the dealer will cover this... Crap.

Ok complaining over.

these things happens all the time, but you're a little unlucky to have it hit on that top, cuz i think that's most fragile w/in the whole windshield. the crack will extend longer each day, so you'll pretty much need to change it. sorry for the incident, but best of luck on getting a new one at a good price.

I was looking at windshields.com, dunno how reputable the site is, but found a glass shop about 5 miles away that quoted $306. That's not too bad I guess, I was expecting to hear somewhere in the range of 500-750 from the dealership.

a friend of mine had glass coverage included in his premium, and they actually hired someone to go to your desired location, like home or at work, to fix the glass for you. you just gotta tip the guy when the job is done.

he actually had his front windshield replaced 3x w/in a few months, and it's all covered under his premium. so call your insurance company and see if they cover these things.
