Oyster Interior...what trim???

I'm getting ready to order a Monaco Blue / Oyster MY09 E90 but I'm still unsure about which wood trim would best match the Oyster. I'm not a fan of the white/aluminum look but has anyone seen / have an opinion on whether Dark Burl Walnut or Light Burl Walnut would be a better match with the Oyster? None of the dealers I've spoken with in L.A. have seen a swatch of the Light Burl Walnut so aren't of much help in my thought process.

Pictures (if available from other countries) would be much appreciated but other input is also very welcome.

Thanks!!

Garage List
Keep in mind that you're not so much matching the wood to the leather as you are to the dash. There is some interaction in the doors, but the majority of the wood trim will be in the all-black dash and lying on the all-black center console.

That's why I got light poplar with my lemon interior, and I love it (click the link to veiw my garage for pics). Unfortunately that is no longer available (no idea why)... I like the lighter wood for tasteful contrast in all that black vinyl, but I really haven't seen the difference between light walnut and burl walnut yet. Ask your CA if they have comparable trims in cars you can look at.

Good luck! Oyster is going to look great!

Very good question! I had to exclude the Oyster due to the lack of matching trims. The best color would be a high gloss black trim to a poplar trim. Oyster is smoking hot. I am considering buying insted of leasing now - and I may install my own high gloss trim and get the oyster!! HOT!!

I ordered Aluminum trim. I did a search for Jade grey interior which is almost exactly what Oyster looks like and found some combos of it with alum. With the black dash and other accents I think alum looked pretty hot and not washed out at all like you are afriad of.

+1

I also went with the Oyster and Aluminum interior and I think it looks great, but then again this is a cosmetic issue so to each his own. For reference here's a picture from the BMW Build Your Own website to show what it looks like.

I like how the aluminum contrasts with the black dash, and the Oyster itself just contrasts with the entire interior which I think is great.

The oyster alone has me looking at the 09's vs MB. I love it. What about enough contrast having silver paint and oyster leather? White/oyster second choice. I like the aluminum with these. Opinions please.
Now about my dog.....

'09 Catalog w/ Oyster?

I think pages 11-13 of the '09 catalog shows Oyster with the light burl walnut trim. You can tell it's the light burl from the horizontal grain pattern. I think it looks fantastic...my preferred choice interior when I order ED.
