Question Are BMW & Volvo only brand with a hardtop vert?

I miss having a vert & would not mind having another, but this time I want a hardtop vert.

Are BMW & Volvo my only options? If so, I'm not buying either one.

I should have specified I want a performance oriented car with some power.

I'd want to keep it in the same ballpark pricewise, or less, as the C63 AMG & CTS-V

Are you talking about four seaters? Because Ferrari, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus, Chrysler, Mazda and VW all make folding hardtops.

As far as benz goes, I have my eye on the C63 AMG & that is hardtop.

With the exception of theft safety, there is no reason that I can think of as to why anyone would want a hardtop convertible?

The vehicle weighs more and in the case of BMW (looks really poorly and uneven). The merc SL hardtops are the only good looking hardtops in my opinion. I am glad BMW went with a softop for the new 6.

There is not, nor will there likely ever be a good looking, four seat, hardtop convertible. And no, the California is not good looking.

Looks are subjective. All verts look better w/the top down. Hardtop or not.

Soft top verts are more noisy inside & develop rattles.

Only hardtop convertibles that look proper are the Benz SL, SLK and the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider

Why not an E93 M3? Owning a 335 is completely different to owning an M3 just in case your worried about purchasing a similar chassis.. You could always black out the window trim, most people would be none the wiser about it bein a convertible. I'm assuming you're not worried about performance?

Agreed though SL, SLK and 458 Spider are the best looking but only seat 2.

You didn't read my original post huh? I said I am looking for a performance oriented car. No BMW b/c I want to try something else. My BMW is fun & all, but nothing that would make me buy another.

... Since when do we specify a car with a normal roof as "hardtop". Usually, it is applied to a vert car, where the top is not tissue or anything... but hard.

911 cabriolet? Although... You have to spend time putting the top back on as it's not power-operated. The hardtop option is around $3k.

Can't afford a new 911 Turbo. Don't want a non-turbo Porsche.
