Hi finally i have my cars build number 2010--- week 38 build ,my question is can i track its progress through the factory etc .I am sure somewhere i read it can be done ie through some bmw owners club or the likes any help would be appreciated thanks

Hey Scooba, when did you order your car?
I ordered mine on the 21st July & was told it was due sometime in Sept, but NOT for Sept 1st.(Not bothered as I'll be in Crete)

Week 38 is wk comm 17th Sept,so if that's the manufacturing week, will it arrive in the UK in week 39?

If I knew when you ordered yours, it would give me an idea of when mine is due. (I could always ring the dealer I guess,but I'm a lazy fecker!)

I think our colonial cousins over the pond can track orders, but not during the production process just during the factory to dealership delivery. Seeing as their deliveries are by ship they take considerable longer than those back here in the 'motherland'. Your dealer should be able to track build progress.

yes BMW in the USA offers owners circle, but we have to keep asking the stealers!

Hi i ordered mine 24 june and paid the deposit ,then i was told by members on here about 2008 spec cars.so i told my stealer i would like the latest spec i think im paying about £300 more but i do get 10% better fuel economy and it does go down a tax bracket ,the big plus was the padel shift gearbox now that has to be worth the wait so i said im happy to wait for a 2008 spec car......I think in usa you can check production etc etc ,but why cant we in europe .never mind it will soon be oct and i cant wait
