Tire Size Suggestion for 17x8.5

Hi All,

About to buy new wheels for summer use, going with 17x8.5 square (I live just north of NYC and would be too paranoid on 18's).

I'm still researching tires themselves, but what size would you suggest for summer tires?

Thanks,
Howard

I would run 245/40/17 all around as they are similar in overall height as the stock 225/45/17.

235/45R17 should work as well and would get you just a tad bit more sidewall height to help out with those NY roads...

I am running Continental DWS 235/45R17 for additional protection from pothole, curb rash and a smoother ride. No significant speedo error, in fact the speedo is more accurate as BMW has an error of +5% built-in with factory tires.
