I want to do a muffler delete for my 328i
The pipe diameter replacing the muffler will be 3 inches, correct? Are there specific size tips I should get and anyone know a site where I can get some cheap ones that look decent? Thanks

I don't it effects either of those, just makes it sound better.

Just remember a 328 does not have turbos to muffle the sound like a 335 does and can sound obnoxious without mufflers.
I did a muffler delete on my 335 and I like it and so did my brother, enough to do a muffler delete on his 325.........let just say he had to get that muffler welded back on the next day, it was that bad. Not implying that your not going to like it, just check out some videos on youtube before you do it.

I have one on my 328. I think it sounds amazing.
you need to get tips in a Y shape though. It should just be one piece. or get tips to fit on to a Y shaped pipe that you have put on. and i would def opt for getting more expensive tips. the tips i got were like $50 and they sucked. they started to rust, so i put black rustoleum on them - plus that actually looked cool, but then because they were so cheap, they get extremely hot and i have to repaint it every couple weeks

Go with a 2.5 or a 3 inch tip. I think it'll look really good. However, no muffler can sometimes sound raspy. If it were me, I'd just get tips welded on and remove a resonator instead of removing a muffler.

Would these be ok? Inlet diameter is 2.23", not sure if that matters.

here is a link to cyba's tips
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281932 as for your pipes. Take it to a muffler shop and theyll do it for you for like 100 bucks. Unless youre planning on buying pipes for your delete before hand |
