I hear Blackhawk Farms (up here near Madison) is a lot of fun for smaller cars, Your V10 might be a bit too much for it though.

It was a great time. Your M5 really moved. I was trying to find the exit to let my passenger out (which took me five laps) when I seen you coming up quick. I never ran the full track before. Now I'm spoiled.

Thanks AMS

Were you in the silver 335? I was wondering what was going on...lol....the exit wasn't very easy to find I agree. I averaged 6.8MPG and had to refill my tank after 2-30min sessions.....the M5 was a lot of fun.....the WRXs and EVOs on the track were insanely faster obviously since they appeared to be completely modified for the track...

Its about a 3 hour drive, but Gingerman in South Haven, MI is a relatively easy track to drive with good run-off areas in most turns. They have Test & Tunes every Tue,Wed,Thu, 530-830P (EST) for $60. You might want to do one of the events thru BMWCCA first. Leave Chicagoland at ~2pm and you will be home by 10 pm (you gain an hour coming home).

I really wish I could have made this event, I have yet to drive the Autobahn in Joliet. I had to "settle" for picking up my M3 and driving the Nurburgring that weekend instead

Yup, that was me. I kept looking for the exit on the entrance straight. After slowing up every time to look, my lines were completely lost. The last two laps I was going so slow but did finally find the exit before the turn . It felt like being on a roller coaster that you didn't know if it would ever stop. But it was still a very good time.

Kevkaz, The M3 looks sweet. Congrats. I'm still looking into what my next car will be.

Maybe next time you go to Gingerman, I can help slow that pack up too :-)

Not me. I was going to use some things like G-tech, Logbox and Rev but decided to just play and have fun for the day.

Nice M3 Kevkaz......no laptimes here either as this was my first time at ACC and won't be my last

3-30min runs shredded my Avon Tyres....Completely Ate my Pads and Rotors....and definitely had to refuel midpoint. The 5:30p-8:30p was perfect as the track was not nearly as hot as it would be early on in the day.....I'd say the biggest issue I encountered was to make sure I'd be able to drive back home after an event like this....I need to definitely invest in a spare tire, extra pads, etc....

There are quite a number of tracks around the Chicagoland area.....question is which one is the most fun????

Thx. I'll let you know if I go out there, I hope to before the end of summer... probably sometime in September. Maybe I'll post something over here when I'm ready to go out there and we can get a few of us to go out there. The two times I was there last year in my 335, it was completely dead... five cars on the track at most.

I won't have the car back here until mid-August and I have another 475 miles to go to complete the break-in. The two laps I did on the ring were relatively tame in order to adhere to the break-in procedure (barely).

Autobahn is my favorite all around local track
I don't think with that car you will have too much fun at Blackhawk. It favors better handling cars not fast cars like Miatas and S2k's and that track will eat right through a set of pads like nothing especially on an M5 and a newer driver.

Stick with AAC and Road America in WI is a lot of fun. I think it might just be my favorite track and it really favors high speed and with the M5 the front straight will make you capable of lapping some lesser cars.
