Some Beading Shots on M-SPORT

Just a quick wash . Sorry for the IPHONE photos but i had too

. I applied some Zaino Z2 ,and some Opti-Seal about 2 weeks ago, and this is how it looks PRIOR to the wash.And some nice reflective shots to show how good Zaino Z2 works.

You can thank tree huggers and environmentalists for the orange peel. But then agian, preserving the environment might a bit more important than cars.

Its when the cars painted, and when its all finished up the texture of the paint looks like the bumpy surface of an unpeeled orange. Hence the name "Orange peel". Its common in every brand of cars really.Only way to get rid of it is to use a INSANELY ultra fine sandpaper. Definitely not worth the risk though

Some years back the federal government changed the environmental laws to restrict the use of volatile organic compounds (VOC) so as to further protect the environment. This change in law had comprehensive impacts to the chemical industry and as we know chenicals are everywhere, including painting processes.

They (VOC's) were also a healthy part of the detailing product market as well and every once in a while you'll see someone say they have some pre-VOC Einszett or something else. Same law.

Alot of paint additives that allow the paint to "flow" freely have been removed from the paint due to environmental policies. Because of this, the new paints tend to "orange peel" or "clump" when applied.

A good analogy is comparing throwing wet mud against a wall versus throwing a bucket of dirty water -- the mud will clump and the dirty water will flow down.

Wet sanding will smooth out the surface but very few automakers go through this step since once it's painted and cured... it's out the door. It is a labour intensive process.
