Very nice to hear we have a viable option with the 6AT! What kind of power are you running?

Understand you dont have exact numbers, but was the slippage on OEM parts at that ballpark whp figure? Im approaching that as a power goal, was hoping if I held off power there and kept boost from being too aggressive post shift, I could preserve the AT without major mods (diff lockdown and Alpina Flash). Thoughts?

As long as you don't run meth/nitrous the tranny *should* hold up fine.

From my point of view, I can put in a couple more used transmissions over the life of the car for the price of the Level10 upgrade...

Yeah, if you bust the trans (mine would shift badly , slip and did not want to shift into 5th) just get a second hand one and run less power. I run the same power as before on this one (500whp) and was shifting fine .

Ha well I just ordered HFS-4, so no meth is out of the bag. But I do plan on limiting whp to around 450, wtq in the same ballpark. So it sounds like I should be OK at these power levels so long as I avoid tons of launches and whatnot.

Thanks for the responses guys

Did you end up putting a trans cooler on there?

anyone ever running this trans near their stated 700hp limit? Finding that figure hard to believe.

Let me know if you need a trans. I've got a spare trans from an '08 335i w/ 60k-ish miles. PM me for details.

Wondering if a transmission is swapped, does the new trans need to be coded to the car?

Does anyone know if the dealer will give me the run around if I ask them to code it?

Haha thanks man, I ended up asking Ken and Terry, both informed me that the VIN isn't stored or anything like that.

Can't believe everything I read on the internet.

I installed a 2009 tranny in my 2006 E92 to be able to get the Alpina TCU Flash. No coding needed

Just for a bump, from previous posts, sounds like you hit about 400whp - the normal FBO (pre-inlet) numbers, and you've been running the Level10 upgrades since 2011. Are you making more power now? How's the trans holding up?
