How much brake fluid is needed for a flush?
I am about to do a brake fluid flush. How much fluid is needed? ECS tuning says 2 bottles of 355ml (12oz) are required, but they seem to have 2 bootles of 1L fluids lined up in their tutorial video.
Thanks! |

I presume you have a catch bottle and either a power bleeder or a friend to pump the brakes. One liter is more than enough to do the job. Suggest taking your catch bottle and filling it with a measured 4 ounces of water. Make a permanent line at this level.
Bleed 4 ounces from each caliper and call it done. That will ensure all old fluid is gone and only new fluid remains. |

I think this can be avoided by just putting something all the way under the pedal so it can't be pushed all the way down. Agreed though that pumping all the way down can cause a master cylinder to fail.
