Well, the watches I buy hold their value MUCH better than a BMW. I've actually made money on watches.

I feel sporty when I worn a Cartier Roadster Dual Bracelet Watch on my ex-Z3

My next sport watch will only be a IWC Ingenieur Chronograph AMG in titanium the synthetic bracelet version.

Currently, I am still wearing my old Hublot Chronograph Quartz when I drive my 330i E90

C.D Peacock is where I bought mine, they are an authorized retailer. Probably one of the best places on Michigan Ave. to go to.
Although I could have gotten it way cheaper on Amazon.com(not sure if they honor warranty).
It was kind of an Impulse buy at the store, wasnt even thinking about getting a watch. _._

Btw your watch is nice, I saw it at the store. But gold is not my style. :P
Sweet. I couldn't decide between this one and the one I eventually bought for a long while. I think I went for mine only because it was featured in the Tiger Woods ad campaign at the time...

Tag appeals to me because of the brands overall sportiness. I love Rolex's too, but I see way too many everytime I get on a plane (it seems that frequent flyers wear Rolex?).

Daytona john

Hey John. How do you maintain your rolex watches? After a few weeks of owning one, I notice right away a number of hairline scratches. Do you recommend having them buffed/polished off?

Thanks.

If you check my Rolex site at www.rolexreferencepage.com you'll see I did an article about using Cape Cod Cloths on the polished areas of the watch.

I hope them Knicks suck this season. Then the Bulls can swap picks with them and we could end up w/ Greg Oden.

Hi John, I saw your Rolex site and found it very informative. I respect your passion and am seeking some unbiased advice. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I am in the market for my very first Rolex, and find your quote about the 16610 very interesting. Why do you say that 16610 is the one to get if you are going to own only one Rolex? How does it compare to the Cosmograph Daytona, which you refer to as your 'trophy watch'? From your website I would infer that the Daytona is your favorite and the one to get it you only had ONE Rolex. What is your advice for a newbie? Daytona or 16610? Also realistically, what should I expect to pay for each of these?

Thanks again.

Maybe it has something to do w/ sub's being readily available and Daytonas are impossible to find , even if you already own a bunch of rolex's. Now if you are willing to pay $10-13k, i'm sure u can get one. I would want a Daytona too, if I was only having 1 rolex. But I read his whole site too. Lots of great info on there.

A BMW is itself an (expensive) jewel which also keeps us on time.

Can't believe I did not see this thread before. I love watches almost as much as I love BMW's.

My line up:
1) Cartier - Pasha 38MM Chrono
2) Panerai - Luminor Marina
3) Tag - Chromium Edition
4) Movado
