Using Detailing supplies that have gone through several thaw cycles?
Hi All:
Tried searching but no luck....hopefully someone can point me to a related thread. I am looking to find out if its safe/effective to use polishes, wax, sealants, etc. after they have gone through various thaw/heat cycles while sitting in my unheated indoor garage? Temperature in winter nears below zero for 2-3 months minimum during winter time. I had purchased Menzerna polishes, Klasse sealant/polish, and P21S was about 2-3 years ago but never really got around to using them. Also, what about using clay that has also been sitting out there going through cold/hot cycles? Thanks! |

There is no guarantee that the products will perform as they did before they were frozen/thawed... you just have to test them out to see.
I highly recommend moving your chemicals indoors throughout winter months or when temps are consistently below 40F. Products like waxes and sealants should be kept indoors all year as they are more sensitive to both higher heat and freezing cold. Thanks Zach.
I will be storing them indoors from now on wards. Last year I thought they might be done for good so left them there. Guess once I get my PC DA I shall find out! |
