RFT Question..

Im pretty new to the RFT's and I had a couple questions. I read that you can't put RFT's on Non run flat rims. but you CAN put non run flats on the Run flat rims. Which what are a lot of you guys are doing. So putting non run flats is ok to put on the 335i? And why can't you put the run flats on just normal rims (not run flats) Just wondering. Thanks!

You can put run flats on any rim you want and it will work. However, the rim needs to have an EH2 or EH2+ hump on it to ensure the run flat tire will stay on the rim with no pressure; otherwise you run the risk of the tire separating from the rim. So in short using run flats with a non EH2 or EH2+ rim loses the benefit of having run flats in the first place.

ok that makes since, thanks for the knowledge. So its ok to swap out the Run flats for normal tires right? $400+ for 1 tire sounds a bit outrageous.

Yep its perfectly fine. BMW claims the suspension is tuned for run flats so there may be a different feel after swapping out.
