this is for all e93 drivers out here please chime in

hey guys a friend of mine asked me what i have to do to beat an m3 coupe i have a convertible i told him i dont really care as long as my car is fast and i enjoy it who cares what car i can or can not beat but then i got thinking and said i dont know if we can can we really hold our own against an m3 coupe? (2010 ofcourse 414hp) what you guys think?

in reality, you cant.
With a chip like JB3 or Procede, in addition to a new intake, intercooler, catless downpipes, scoops, forge dvs, stett cp, meth injection, and free flow exhaust, you may be able to keep up with an e93 m3 convertible, but the coupe you basically have no chance b/c your car is heavier and weight distribution is off...

i might have been a little harsh. you probably can but speeds over 120 the m3 will rape due to the v8 under the hood

no i wont get to much over that anyway but from start to 120 with jb3 ar cattless dci forge dv no way huh? i figured with those mods maybe 370 whp 380wtq not sure never dynoed just a guess. the m3 maybe 370 whp 270wtq would the weight difference be made up with the torque difference?

Its a BIG weight difference. You're cars the equivalent of a chubby chick in spandex. It may look all tight and nice, but you put it on a scale and it may break it.

In reality, I think you'd need a good amount of mods to hold your own against an M3. I feel the car getting pretty sluggish when I have me and 3 passengers. Feels like it looses all its pep. Think tune, IC, intake at the least. More likely fully c@tless. Meth/race gas never hurts.

wooo wooo woooo..... i have personal raced a 2009 M3 sedan from a dig to 85 in my 2008 E93 with Jb3,RR Downpipes, RR stage three intake and Remus Axel back. I was a car lenght on him all the way to 60 at that point he start to reel me in a little bit but still had him by half car till i shut down at about 85ish... the dude defiantly knew how to drive it, and that was back on JB3 1.0...so im not so sure about all that never shit...also ive got 19s on general sport tires and Stage3 drop temps were probably low 60's, just in case it matters

+1...ive got every conceivable mod on mine and got the m3 1 1/2 car lengths from a dig all the way till 120...dont sleep on our cars...we are only a mod or 2 behind you e90/e92s in terms of speed...

There is about 400 pound difference...with full mods and meth, you will be able to beat a M3 from a dig till 130 and then the M3 will take you...

i prefer naturally aspirated the response time the mean sound of it thats much better than turbo for me

THe M3 gets our engine the N54, but the 3 series get the new N55 which is supposedly the same performance as the N54...YEAH RIGHT!!

You should be able to take M3 Coupe stock if you get E93 335 pushing 450HP. Since the Power to Weight ration of E93/335 at 450HP 0.114 vs E92/M3 Coupe at 414HP 0.112. Of course there are other factors. M3 driver's ability to shift gears at the right RPM band, his response time at the start, tires and etc.
