I rented mine last week. 5 bucks. Or you can pick one up at a pawn shop for 20-80. Just make sure it is current and certified.
Or if you are a germ freak, you can buy new for 200+

I tend to post up at the very top so that once my car is cool, I can just roll into the staging lanes without having to turn it on.

I got mine new for $125 I think. You don't have to buy anything fancy as long. Mine's a scorpion.

I went. It wasn't crowded at all. It was a little warm and humid for my tastes, and it started raining about 7:45, but people got all the runs they wanted before that. It never even completely filled two staging lanes.
As far as my results went, the heat and the extra traction from all the VHT and rubber was giving me fits. Bogged launch after launch. Started lining up out of the groove for the last couple of runs and it went much better. Slightly improved on my previous best, but still only 102mph. For me there was no improvement over Stage1+ aggressive 4.01 by using Stage 1 aggressive 3.01. I'm starting to wonder if I might have a boost leak, though. Not enough to set a code, just enough to be a little laggy and slightly down on power. I need to put together a Home Depot pressure tester for the N54. |

Well, i bet you would gain at least 1mph by adding a drop in filter or DCI. Along with that, auto's seem to run faster. So that would put you at 103-103.5mph add an auto trany and thats prob another 1mph so you are at 104mph. Seems pretty close.
Where are you shifting? my best results are shifting at 6000-6200rpm in every gear. I did get a P30ff code (boost leak) a week ago in the sport map. Switched to aggressive and havent seen it since. Who knows? My guess is the diverter valves.

I'll be getting a DCI for Father's Day. I would have been curious to find out if the drop in made any difference but I didn't see you there and I'm not going to pay for one just for this experiment. Since my 60' times are in the 1.8s and yours were in the 1.9s, the only reason the auto should actually be faster is due to the WOT shifts. I wish Cobb would hurry up with that for manual.
I've tried shifting at that low of an rpm but went slower. I think it only works for autos because of the WOT shifting. Also, according to my dyno results I think what's best is about the same shift points I used on my Mitsubishi which was about 7k,6.8k,6.5k. I don't seem to be able to improve over those points when I try others. I haven't had any boost leak codes, but still want to check that in case I have a minor one. |

I could do next week but prolly won't cause I'll be out late the night before. The week after is good for me tho, provided the weather is good and I'm not out of town. I'm interested to see what this 60/40 mix of E85 does. I'm noticing about 2 psi more on the fuel gauge
