335i Coupe on the way... have questions
Finally worked out a deal for a Black Saphire / Saddle 335i Coupe.
Have a few questions which I hope you can assist with: 1. Road hazard protection. Given a list price of $899 and a discounted price of $799. Covers 2 sets of wheels (2 set does not have to be purchased from BMW) for upto 5 years. Coverage begin on sign up. Does $799 sound reasonable? 2. 3M invisible Bra: Will probably need it as I have black: Dealer quote is $399. Does this sound reasonable? 3. Tinting: Is the group buy still open? Will probably jump in. 4. Mods? M3 Wheel, front splitters.... |

Did they try and sell you on the insurance package as well that covers you for up to $7,500 damage when you return the vehicle? I'm actually seriously looking at this - plan on going in to the dealership in the next week or so to investigate this more thoroughly - see whether its worthwhile.
Right now the only two packages I'm considering are tire and wheel and insurance. |

I always attest to the tire warranty. I paid $599 at Budd's, and have had 3 tires replaced in 2 years <phew>.

Am purchasing so no need for return coverage. Tire warranty seems a must have and keeps on rising so I guess $799 + tax is as good as it gets; must be all you guys making claims . May go with 3M invisible bra @ 399. Seems reasonable and I need it since I'm getting a saphire balck and intend to keep the car for a while.

If you like most of us that not going to use the crappy oem runflat at all then what's the point of getting the tire insurance? Everytime when I am running on the runflat, the car feels like driving on snow with summer tire!!!

Hey guys i'm getting my new 323i in toronto too and am still debating on this option but found a site that might be worth checking out.. http://www.twinkidneygrill.com/Home.html they have the coverage for less than 600 but they located in the states so i ain't sure if we able to get this coverage.. my dealer was trying to get 1k off me for that damn insurance... so if anyone can get back to me on this and if they do business for Toronto it'll be great... didn't get my bmw yet so don't have a vin number so i can message them to find out so for those who do have a vin number can you please check this site out and tell me if we Torontions are covered for their protection.. thx.

BMW of Mississauga offers two packages. One from BMW (3 yr with no coverage for first 30 days) and one from Coverageone (5 yr with coverage beginning on day one). Both have a base price of 899. Quoted 799 for the Coverageone one.

2) Clear bra is a must, imo. Just not from the dealer. They will send it to a third party so you have no control over the quality of the install. There are installers they will likely do a better job for that price, with better coverage. 3) Dunno, FX does good tints though. 4) I saw an e92 with M3 wheels today, looked hot! |

Thanks Picus, read lots about you on this forum from way back whe nt he e92 was launched. PM me if you have an available slot to do the initial detail on my car and your rates. Will also nned advice on how to maintain it. Its Saphire black so its gonna be tough.
1. Will likely go with the Tire protection from BMW of Mississauga. They use a 3rd party company that covers a 2nd set of wheels from upto 5 yrs or 3/32 of thread life. 2. Any recommended shops for clear bra; would like ot get it ASAP. PM me if you cannot mention names on the forum. 3. Will go with the current group buy. Any recommended tint color that goes well with saphire black? 4. Sorry need to clarify; Meant M3 Steering wheels; not a fan of putting M specific wheels on non M cars. Quote:

2) Advanced Mobile group. Check this thread out. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146636 Marco does excellent work. 3) I like Charcoal on dark cars, but that's just me. 4) The M3 steering wheel is the best thing ever. I have the m sport and love it. I tell people it's the best $400 I spent on the car. Do you know when your delivery date will be, approximately? |

Thanks Picus.
Will go with your suggestions. They found a car close to my specs available in Calgary and are having it trucked here. So within two weeks. Anything I should be look for during PDI (besides excessive -over 20km- mileage) Quote:

$399 for the 3M Clear Bra is cheap... It's not going to cover much. You'll get a partial hood and either the bumper or partial fenders. Because you have black sapphire, it will definitely show and people will be able to see your clear bra. My suggestion is to go with a full hood and full fenders. I don't know if 3M has a sheet large enough for the front hood, but VentureShield has one. VentureShield was acquired by 3M so maybe they can do VentureShield as well. I like VS better than 3M because it is less prone to scratches.

vm-323Ci - if the car is already in Calgary that means there is a 99% chance it's been washed, probably more than once, and probably in a brush or soft cloth wash. I would go over it pretty carefully for any obviously scratches, dings, chips, etc. Let me know when you know and we can set up a prep. |
