New warning system from BMW to warn of HPFP failure --- part of software update I believe --- since they can't fix the pump they figure if they warn you sooner they'll be OK with NHTSB...sorry, couldn't resist.

Do a "check control" and see if anything comes up. If it's not that, is it maybe the low temperature / freeze warning? If you are right on the verge, it comes and goes. IIRC correctly, it beeps when it comes on, to alert you.

My money's on the temperature. Set your dash to show the temp. When it does that, check the temp. It should flash or something along those lines. I remember seeing that on my E39 in the winter once when it was like 34F (doesn't do it on 32F/freezing). Just a, "Damn, it's really cold outside" warning. I don't think you can turn that off.
Not funny or cute. This guy also drives a 328i, so he's just speaking tomfoolery. Recommend permaban. |

It's the hour memo. It beeps to remind you that it's the top of the hour.
Reading the manual will do wonders for you

+1 Go to your idrive settings and fine the hourly chime function. Then you can turn it off if it drives you nuts.

1) The hourly alarm is found under "Time", "Hour Memo" 2) The speed warning is found under "Speed Limit" Instructions for turning them on/off may be found there. Also, these settings are unique to each keyfob. Happy hunting! Tom |

It's the hour memo. turn it off on your idrive... or look at page 82 in your manual. (Sad how I know that by heart because when I got my car I was like wtf is that beeping and scoured the manual...)
