No Washer Fluid coming out??

I have 2006 325i that I recently purchased. The wipers work fine, no problem with the rain sensor but when I try to use the fluid to wash my windshield, nothing? I know there is fluid in there I can see it. I hear the motor but nothing?? Any suggestions?? thanks for replies in advance.

I'm actually having this same issue. I have a '08 e90 335i. Fluid is topped off, you can hear it trying to do something, but still no fluid comes out. I also don't see any signs of leakage anywhere either.

Me either, I have checked the lines and had someone try to run it well I observed under the hood nothing. I googled the question as well and some people say it could be a filter under the reservior but I am checking hoping someone can confirm before I take my wheel off and wheel well liner.

Yeah, would be great if it were that simple, but I'm in SC. It's only been below freezing like 5 times so far this year.

Maybe the paper gasket on a bottle of washer fluid fell in during a refilling. Sometimes that happens and it plugs the motor - at least I've seen it on other models.

If you can hear the motor, it's likely something stuck at the pump screen. Pull the motor out and clean it up.

thanks for the suggestion. So I do need to take the wheel off and wheel well cover to do this or is there a DYI on the forum?

Checked the filter up by the right front wheel well? Well known issue, in fact I'm about to have mine cleaned soon.

Same symptoms with my son's 2007 328xi, cleaned the filter as it was completely plugged. Wasn't to big a deal, biggest pain was getting the tire off. Do watch the filter as it is rather small as I recall.

You may have to remove the side marker light to aid in removal of the pump, if so make sure to tie a length of string or twine to the wire in case it falls down into the fender, you can pull it back out. Make sure to wash the reservoir out with clean water (I poured hot water down the filler tube and let it run out the pump opening) before you assemble the pump back into the reservoir. All in all took about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to fill with quality washer fluid and test before completely putting the car back together. G/L
