I should have ZSP'd the ZMZ. 335i Arrival date Nov.14 2011.
I read in some fine print on the Model Year ordering guide that any " speacial orders" are at wholesale prices.

I just picked my car up. I love the ppk, it gives it that extra grit you were always itching for. I did not notice much change in my exhaust note, but it feels a little deeper in higher gears (if that makes sense). I might just need to hook the golf tee mod for that perfect sound!

Mike, congrats! Glad you're liking it.

With our top down, it's all music to my ears. But with the top up, it's pretty darn quiet. I would imagine if you buzzed off the roof, you'd be hearing much more music (ask a local fire department...they'd LOVE to do that for you).

I'm guessing it's still there, just have a buddy drive it around for you while you listen from the sidewalk.

turbo problems???

So all of a sudden today i was driving a little aggressively and i felt a huge drop in throttle response. my exhaust note also sounded much lower. the car did not accelerate as fast as it did before, but is slowly gaining hp back, and is almost back to normal. still having a low exhaust note. keep in mind, this is the third day of driving after the performance power kit was installed. what the hell happened?

LoL, I feel the same way. I come from turbo Corvette and KB Cobra land. My wife just had our first child, so this is my sensible baby hauler. I've already got a procede arranged. I just wonder if I shouldn't leave this sucker stock and dump it soon and pony up for a CTSV

with the PPK installed on my '11 335i, I decided to make a few runs against my buddy modified '85 911 turbo and I scared the hell out of him, I was slightly ahead ~ 1/2 car length for the first 90 mph, then his top end from his bigger turbo took over after that.

I have the PPK now. It rocks. Sometimes the wheels break loose at 3/4 throttle.

I'm (hopefully) buying a CPO 335i MSport tomorrow .. I saw the PPK on the sticker and I was wondering what it was. Quick search and I got a perfect explanation. Really nice when guys take the time to do a write up like this. Pretty sure I wouldn't pay the retrofit price for 20hp/20-30tq, but since it's included in this car I'm a little more pumped! I had an 08 335i that I paid the "big bucks" for the Dinan stage 2 software (~$1800 for something like 80hp/118tq?). that car had some grunt! my expectations are realistic for this and maybe I'll chase some HP again later but for now I'm going to just try and enjoy it for what it is.

thanks for a good write up!

Matt
