Driveline ticking sound

Hey Guys,
With the windows down, slowly driving, and as I pass objects that can reflect the emanating engine and drive line sound, I can hear something rotating and ticking. It does not sound loud, but subtle.

(Please don't comment to roll up the window to solve the problem. See I beat some of you to punch line -hahaha)

Does this situation sound familiar? Is it normal or abnormal? Thanks for any input.

may not be driveline, could be something as simple as having a rock stuck in your tire tread

Crawl under the car with a flashlight and take a look, it could be a plastic bag or stick caught in the suspension or wheels if it isn't just a large rock in the tire..

Sorry and thanks for the input, but this is not a rock type of clicking. It is more mechanical sounding.

Also, no bag underneath.

Anyone else?

Might be the injectors; I have sometimes heard this sound. Nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Does it happen mostly when the car is cold? Or does it do it 24/7? If only when car is warming up, I'd say it's the valve lifters. It sounds like a chattering sound.

If it's all the time, regardless of when you're driving, then I can't say. I would not expect a rotating and ticking sound 24/7 -- nor would I put up with it.

Could also be wastegate rattle? I think there is a youtube to show you exactly what that sounds like as a sticky at the top of this forum.

Mine ticks while warming up, and I know it's the valve lifters getting oil to them is what makes it tick(asked my SA awhile back)
I usually warm my car up for about 10 min and it's gone

Most likely wastegate rattle, my car would make the same sound until I replaced my wastegate actuator.

hmmm, this sounds more reasonable. The noise can be heard while on the move with the driver's side window opened.

Yesterday, being a warmer day, it was not as detectable as days in past. I guess i will set up a appointment with the dealership.
