is it safe to get meth kit on stock car?

I have 335i coupe with jb tune and nothing else.. was considering getting meth kit. I was just wondering if it is safe for the car even though I have the jb tune only. Also it is Automatic.

Safe yes, not as not much of a benefit. Yes, you could run more boost than you could on just pump gas. But supporting mods would be better overall.

Not much of a benefit, you are smoking some good stuff! How much experience do you have with Meth on your car.

Not good advice. JB3 customers have ran 117mph with tune ONLY. With Meth you lower the charge temps allowing more boost with just pump gas. So you can run race gas maps with pump gas. Meth is a cheaper alternative to race gas plug lowers IAT's and cleans your engine....all benefit's of running Meth on a nearly stock car. Only thing those other mods do is make it hard to bring your car in for service. Just put a intake, jb3 and Meth and you have a very fast car.

Simply put Meth is the next best mod after a tune for the N54.

I have run meth on a few cars for some years.

My assumption was the based on the reasoning for not adding additional modifications and the tone of the query. Anyone wanting to run meth and run turbine speeds that would be required to get a major benefit would not ask a question. Someone asking about being essentially stock, and most likely run a lower map, will not yield great benefits. I could be wrong but that is what I gleaned from the post.

If you are out to get great times and understand the issues, you would not post.

He would benefit from Meth because it will lower his IAT's which would allow him to run more boost and timing making him faster.

The limitation with JB only is that you can only run Map5 with pump gas. With the addition of Meth you could run Map9 with Meth/pump. That is the beauty of Methanol thus making it the next best mod after a tune.

Even if he did downpipes (a bitch for warranty work) intercooler (a pain to take off as well) he would still be limited to Map7 and have to put in 9$ a gallon race gas to run Map8. With Meth he could run Map8-9 all day if he wanted.

You missed the point. What was the basis of the question was the reason for my answer. You also forgot about mentioning the octane increase.

If someone is stock with just a tune, they are most likely worried about warranty. That should set a tone for the question. As mentioned, I could be wrong but would hate to assume someone wants to run extra boost and not be honest about what they are doing.

is meth easy to take off for warranty work? do you have to refill the meth tank. Should you match meth with a FMIC since the boost levels will be higher if your running map 8-9. What are the negative effects of running meth?

I personally would not run Meth with just a tune. Raising your boost with stock cats will put a lot of stress on those turbos.

If you are looking at the long term health of your engine - more modications (FMIC, DP's) are preferred. But to answer your question, yes you can run it.

Would you have to remove the meth kit before taking your car in for service?
