can these be installed DIY in a garage or will they need to go to a shop that will remove the subframe and press them in?

All depends of how mechanically inclined you are, but definitely not a job for a novice or intermediate without proper tools.

Pretty Mechanically inclined. Also my buddy replaced his subframe bushings at an earlier time so ill have someone with me whose done the job before.

Just wanted to make sure that these aren't like the solid aluminum ones which require the subframe to be removed completely and the bushing put in with a press.

To rephrase the question, do these bushings require the whole subframe to be removed and pressed?

If going the full aluminum route, Macht Schnell's cost even less.

You will have to drop it enough to insert the derlin from the top. The derlin go from the top and the aluminum insert from the bottom. They will have to be presses in but is easier than solid aluminum and regular rubber bushings just because of the material.

Do you mean these - https://europeanautosource.com/macht...1m-e9x-m3.html

Will they fit non-M E9X? It says "Models Supported: 2011 BMW E82 1M, 2008-2013 BMW E9X M3"

Also, would that introduce too much NVH for a DD?

subrame is identical on all e8x and e9x, NVH increase is minimal.
