Audi S4 B8
Thoughts? Views? Experiences?
Supercharged 3.0 Creeping into an affordable price range now. I currently have a 335i E93 + jb4 (Expecting a grilling for asking about an Audi. The only thing I have against them is that it is an Audi and I'm not a huge fan of the brand) |

First of all a very dated interior. Makes the E9* look good. I have driven them and it's a shame they moved away from the v8 engines. It's a good car to drive but not enough to make me move from a 335i.

I have looked at them they hold there value better.
Bit heavier thanks to 4wd. Some pretty tasty tuning options. Find the Chris Harris S4 with REVO video of him putting RS4 in the shade and that was with early stage of tuning low 400's now getting nearer 500 bhp for a couple of grand. And with the 4wd they can put the power down. I think tuned there Into sub-4 to 60 & easily under 10 to a 100. I imagine steering & handling are not as good but outright pace & grip of tuned one hard to beat. |

I too have been looking at the 3.0 supercharged engine in the newer s5 coupes as an upgrade to my 330i prices still a little too rich for my liking atm considering they didn't put the engine in the coupe til a year or two after the cab and sportback for some reason. Appealing is the decent mpg and tuning capability I would consider a 335i but after having my 330i for 3 years fancy a change of car

I was going by book figures after doing a bit more research your right people saying they're getting as low as 19mpg which isn't great!

I find myself looking at the regularly but more the A5 or A4 avant, I don't really see why they waited so long to put the new engine in the A5.
As already mentioned they are a little steep still and the interior will infotainment isn't great plus the fuel makes me think I should wait for an M4. |

Out of the 3 I would prefer tha S4 Avant. I think it's the best all rounder and is a massive sleeper, plus I have a thing for estate cars there's a few cars I would only get in the estate (RS6, M5, CLS63)
I prefer the looks of the S5 but you can't get it with a manual gearbox. Which is a must for my next car. (This is my 2nd 335i with step auto) Currently laid up after an ACL reconstruction, so just driving a car is a couple of months away for me at the moment. It's giving me more than enough time to look around online though. |
