One thing I have noticed is that it appears to change colour (it gets lighter and darker) like a chameleon.

The power is something else, not used to this much, but I'll give it a run up the Midlands this week.

I have not mastered the idrive yet, to me, the controller is too far back, and I have not used an idrive before, and there are so many menus.....anyway give me a few more days.
I've googled 'Hampshire's Treasure Island' and it looks nice. I have some relations near that neck of the woods.

You can see the subtle colour changes in your pics. mine does this also. I like the changes actually.

Suppose it's too early on to mention re-maps then lol.

Don't suppose you know whether the idrive on yours is still in the same place say as mine was on the 335d? just with you saying the 'wheel' seems set too far back. As for the menus, I agree, at first it is almost bewildering but before you know it you're skimming through all the menus, especially the ones you will use regularly. Clever thing the brain when you come to think about it. I know the cost option is a subjective point, but compared to the Porsche system, the BMW idrive for a similar price does have many more functions imo.

BeemerB, I'll measure it up tomorrow.

No, I have no intension of doing any remapping; this baby goes quite fast enough for me. I wouldn't mind a cloaking shield though.

535desire, it was a case of bogof today with the two cars

When you find a source for one of those I'm sure you'll be able to get a group buy in a flash...regardless the cost.

Well, I definitely prefer this facelift M-Sport front bumper.

Not sure about the mirrors, they're "not as bad" as I thought they would be, but that hardly seemes a compliment.

Back to the mirrors, I ordered the folding/tilting mirrors, and they certainly fgold electrically. The tilting mirror only works in reverse if you order the full electrical seat ajustment; I order part electrics.

One more comment, the mirrors have a great field of view; I thought the earlier ones were a bit small and these are more like, but better than my E46 mirrors.

I don't know about a cloaking shield, but how about a veil?

Would you paint any part of your car with a brush?

I saw a red E93 M Sport in a car park this week with cream interior. It looked fantastic. It's a shame more people don't go for the bolder colours.

Would it matter? I mean, if the stuff is "stealth", then you shouldn't be able to see it anyway

Because I could get metallic red DXB; maybe I could have pushed harder with an individual colour but I'm happywith what I've got now.

Only a short comment on the ride, but I'm taking it for a longer drive this week. I have the Bridgestone Potenzas and although runflat, I've sure the ride is no harder than the Continentals I had on mt E46. I am sure that the soundproofing is even better, it is very quiet.

I do like the individual sound system; can get very loud volume and the sound is crystal clear. I was playing music off a USB memory stick and my iPhone.

These are just forst impressions; more info in a week.

Great looking car there Tisme.
The new M front bumper is fantastic looking - although I am not a fan of the big wing mirrors. It seems the new Audi A4 is adorned with these huge mirrors too.

Another stupid EU regulation no doubt!!

Dumbo ear mirrors are probably courtesy of the US DOT.

Dumbo ear mirrors

I wonder if the old mirrors will retrofit easily?

I suppose they are Dumbo ones, but the visibility from them is very much improved, so I'm not complainng.

Like that Bluewater colour. I have a 320d SE facelift on order in Black Sapphire, but I think I prefer the colour of yours.

Enjoy.

tisme,

Lovely looking car! Congratulations!

I saw a bluewater 335d at Robert Sterns in Worcester today and it was lovely. Absolutely cracking colour. I was very tempted, but ended up with an E46 M3 instead!
