Halogen Headlights Low beam Metal bulb cover

Hello everyone for all of you that have halogen headlights i need to ask about the low beam metal cover inside the headlight that covers the bulb can it be taken out becouse im buying aftermarket bulbs and that thing looks just plain ugly thank you.

i'm not sure if you should do that... it might mess up your beam pattern thus messing up the light out put...

Its funny becouse iv seen the euro halogen headlights without it and i remeber iv seen somones car on here without that thing but idk.

Funny you mentioned that. I've done this exact DIY, link here:

The metal shield is a DOT thing. The DOT reflector is different to accomodate the shield, but after I remove it I don't see the cut off get any worse.

The euro halogen reflector is visibly better with the cut off.
