Need help w/ 2008 E90 335xi exhaust.
I'm looking to up grade my OEM exhaust on my 2008 335xi E90. it is all stock, and the only thing i would consider is a SSTT or compilable upgrade. waiting for the NEW SSTT, and the like, to come out, and the price to come down some. with that said, i am looking for an exhaust that bolts right back on after the OEM is removed. no cutting or welding hangers etc. only looking at a catback system.
the note should be more profound but not in your face, Loud. to have a good note at idle, as well as under acceleration. quality is a must, and i have always considered the BMW performance exhaust jason sells at Tisher BMW. has anyone compared BMW performance to another system side by side and eliminated BMW in the running for the replacement? i have listened to all clips on our forum, and must admit the sounds are better than stock, but i believe hearing it in person does not compare to the real thing. i'm not interested in dual tips because i don't want to replace the rear defuser. (back to that keeping the car as stock as possible but w/ quality improvements) although there are lots of BMW's around my home, w/ a dealer right up the street. i don't have any moded BMW around that i have heard w/ a different exhaust. all inputs are welcome. thanks for your time. |

When you say cat-back do you mean true cat-back or do you care if the secondaries are removed? I really like my Active Autowerkes exhaust but you would lose your secondary cats. Its got a nice exhaust note but isnt in your face at all.

i didn't know there are 2 cats. i guess deleting the 2nd set would be ok. no codes are thrown removing them, like an O2 sensor ?
what a ball park $ on your set up. dose it replace the same as the OEM. no mods needed to attach it? i guess i got more questions than answers! |

Check out the performance sticky. Listen to the exhausts and see which you like best. Personally, I like cp-e.

cp-e. Quality quality quality. 304 stainless, TIG welded, perfect fitment, no drone, and a killer sound at WOT. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=cp-e

Borla has this as well, although you'd have to buy two products at probably a little more cost. If you don't want to delete the second set of cats I think you will need to cut off the original exhaust. Did you mean no cutting of the original exhaust as well, or just not having to do modification to the car to get the new one to fit?
