Powder-Coated Wheels, & How to Protect Them
Hello All,
I recently powder-coated my wheels and I was wondering if there is a way to protect them. Do I apply a sealer wax onto the wheel for protection from scratches, and whatever else might damage the coat? Or is there another technique on how to protect the finish on the wheels. Please share. I have semi-gloss black wheels. Damage to colored or darker wheels is much more noticeable in comparison to alloy wheels. Thanks

I powdered my motorcycle wheels black. I covered them in PoorBoys wheel wax. The part I didn't wipe really well I had to go back and apply some more to get it off.
I did some "research" on a couple of sample color pieces I took from the painter. PB worked better than Z2, and I did some harsh rubbing of mud onto the surface, letting it dry, then washing it off. Based soely on the beading effect after the mud session. No exposure to heat other than leaving it to dry on a sunny window sill. |
