Hifi upgrade problem with popping sound...

Hi everyone!

I have made an upgrade to my sound system from base stereo to custom hifi.
I just added an aftermarket amp (audio system germany) + line driver (rockford fosgate BLD 3 sixty) + HU coded to Hifi.

Everything is working perfectly except one little thing :
when going on or off, I can clearly hear a popping sound in my amplified speakers.

The popping sound is louder when the system is going off than when going on.
At first I thought that my amp was faulty but after running some tests, it appears that it is my line driver.

When applying power to the line driver + amp : popping sound
When applying power to amp only : no popping sound

When amp is on and line driver is on, if I remove the power of the line driver, I have the popping sound.

So what could be the solution? adding a delay timer to the line driver???
Are u used to the situation??

Please help!
Thanks!!!

The problem I think is that you added an unnecessary link to the audio chain - the line driver. What you should have done instead is to select an amp with diff. balanced inputs. Sorry, no idea how to get rid of your problem without eliminating the line driver. If you want to try messing with delay, you need delay for the amp for turn-on, and delay for the line driver for turn-off...

Thanks for the answer!
yup, I learned it the hard way

There must be a way to get rid of this problem!

What about putting a little capacitor on the line driver?

If I were you I'd just swap the amp. Seems easier!

Mine has been popping, as well. When I took off my remote speakers and selected just the computer, the popping went away. it was sad to restarting coreaudio didn't work for me.
