So, on entering the dealer I see a lovely looking XFR in the showroom, fully loaded with all the nice kit like B&W stereo , rear camera....well, pretty much everything really as most of it is standard.

It had a nice sign next to it informing me that particular car was £63,500. I find a salesman and ask him if he has any used XFR's as I didn't really want to spend more than £50k and lovely though the showroom one was, I just couldn't afford it!

He said he didn't have any others but would go and see if he could get one. Imagine my surprise when he came back and said I could have the one in the showroom, a 59-plate car with 30 (YES, 30) miles on the clock for.....

Now, have a look at Jag's used car site and have a guess!

I'll update when I get back from work!
You tease - you Merc drivers are all the same - £53K?

£48k

FORTY EIGHT THOUSAND POUNDS

That's more than £15,000 off for a car that has done 30 miles.

Now, everyone knows that in 6 months I'll be looking to get out of this and into my next latest fad so this deal tells me one of a few things...

1. It's a mega heavy depreciator and will drop lot's more - not good news for me.

2. It's a shite car - well, I've not driven it yet but the press seem to think it's one of the best cars on sale at the moment

3. Or...I've just been offered the deal of the century?

Now, is this too good to miss?

I think it's number 1. That is a staggering amount of a pre reg £63K car. It'll be worth £30K trade in 6 months at that rate!

I have to say they don't do 'it' , it still says 'old man' car to me.

I think you should get the aston! I doubt its going to drop very much in the short time you will own it. Plus its an Aston! You could always swap your C63 for my 320d and then when you get another C63 it will feel like a Vayron

I just couldn't live with the Aston - I really would be disappointed driving home from the dealer in it! I can't imagine saying goodbye to the C63 and coming home in the Aston - apart from the badge and the looks, there is nothing I preferred about it.

Lol about the swap....but TBH, the C63 felt like a Veyron after the Vantage

Fackin hell mate! That's a good price! Have you tried callin around other dealers to see what price they could offer you on the same motor? If your that desperate to change I'd be really tempted by that offer!

If you were getting a blow job from Cheryl Cole on a regular basis would that be classed as too much of a good thing............... I thought not

Charlie - stop it! I'm seriously looking at Jag's now because of you. Yes, I think I'll blame you

I only popped into the Jag dealer today as I was passing - I was actually going to call the guy you recommended but what I was offered today was incredible!

If I had that Porsche it'd be waste - I'd wreck it! But it does look mint.

You see Charlie...'interior a bit Mondeo' is not something that can be said of the XF inside.

To get the Supercharged 5.0 in the XKR (which is the engine I really want - back to over 500bhp again lol!) it's costing a lot more and the car probably isn't any better.

Anyway, I'm trying the XFR on Saturday once they've rolled it out of the showroom - who knows, it might be a barge that hate!

Audi R8 - I can't put my finger on it but I'm not a fan for some reason...I'd always choose something else

Now, the Maserati. Absolutely love the Granturismo S (not the boggo one though for some reason)...it's a car I would have in a flash but the 'S' version is way out of my price range. They're still mid-high £70k's minimum.

E63 is a nice motor...but they're like 70-80 grand! Thats 50% more than my budget lol! And if I had that to spend on a car, I'm pretty sure I'd find something other than the E63.

Now, in a years time.....mmm! But then, the new M5 will be due and I'm sure thats going to be one!

...... so why on earth did you make your DB7 comments when the subject was a current Vantage????

....sheeeshh.....

Moving on, XF is a nice car, and the "R" is probably a good move from the C63...having said that, if they are prepared to offer a "significant" discount to buy one now, it doesn't bode well for resale, given that your plan is for this to be a short term answer.
