Power to the the Pump?

Just a couple questions about wiring my DO kit to the car.

I was wondering if i could splice the wire in the cig lighter and power the pump that way or just tap a fuse?

Plus should i install a couple inline fuses into the main power line of the pump?.

Thanks for all the help guys,Jon

And would it have taken too much of your time to type it out for clarity?

As for powering a pump, take a direct line and fuse it. Better safe than sorry.

I think it goes to sleep when the ecu goes to sleep. However, the pump is only on when you see boost. So its not on till you actually get in boost. So technically its never on until the car is started and going 8-10 PSI (whatever setting you have).

Regardless, Ive been doing it seamlessly for 1.5 Years, not trying to reinvent the wheel here.

Clap135 runs it the same way last I checked too. I mean there are wrong ways, and there are some good ways, and there are some hard ways, you decide which road you want to take.

did you use a tap a fuse or just wrapped the wire around the prong and stuck the fuse back in?

You can use the battery post for power in the engine bay.
Jp has it a little backwards.
Pump to battery ground
Pump positive to boost switch
Boost switch to battery post (battery post screws into firewall/fender, very easy access, just pop off the plastic cover) Whatever fuse came with your kit goes between the boost switch and the battery post.

i just cant get it straight with failsafes and the Jb3, Why cant the Labonte failsafe work on the Jb3 is becuase it cant read if their is a overflow so if that happens i cant do anything about it.

Or give $400 for a CMGS and FS when i could have gave $160 if i had a procede.

I rather not run one.

More or less same, just different power source.

I agree, anyone moving forward with meth should look into failsafes.
